I still took the painkillers during work yesterday because I needed to be able to move around without wincing every time. I timed them so they'd be out of my system if I needed to drive, since they make me more than a little dizzy. unfortunately, they really didn't seem to do much for the pain. Bummer. Today I didn't need them. This makes me happy. I can still tell something was wrong if I jostle myself too terribly, or try to take stairs too fast or walk a lot, but it's faded to a feeling much like I did way too many sit-ups. I suspect part of the lingering discomfort actually may be pulled muscles from tensing them to try to prevent too much pain when I moved. but, IANAD, and I'll move on to other topics.
So what's with people lately? everyone seems to be really crabby, and really interested in picking fights. Is the decreasing amount of sunlight pissing people off that bad already? All I know is that I've spent more time responding to emails from people who won't admit that they screwed up than i've spent taking care of my normal workload. this leads to people complaining that it's taking too long, which makes it take longer, and if i don't respond to their emails right away (so i could actually get something done) they get really crabby...i think i might have to set my out-of-office for the day i need to dedicate to a project that's got a deadline coming up fast, and lock myself in a conference room til i'm done.
i discovered something weird in one of our home-brewed apps at work, and i'm not sure whether to call it a bug or a feature. it's definitely useful but i'm pretty sure it's not meant to work like that. i'll just add this one to the list of things i can use to make the system work in ways that it's not meant to, but which accomplish my goal better than "proper" methods, and even give results the proper methods can't but should be able to. if that made any sense at all.
it's late, and i'm tired. must post and sleep.
