Yesterday. I think it's a sign.  That and I got a newsletter with the CEO of my company wearing a double-breasted suit. It is unambiguous: I need a double-breasted suit if I want to move up in the world. There is no other path. Anyadgatir naasti.

I'm at page 691 of Anathem as of this morning's train ride. They're definitely in the middle of some real plot action now. The philosophy, however, is turning disappointing. Still, it's worth finishing and more fun right now than studying interest rate swaps and the Black-Scholes model, so, whatevs.

I've been listening to The Fiery Furnaces a lot lately. I recently picked up Widow City (how did they sneak that by me?) and Remember. Remember is a bit indulgent, but I find that listening to 7-8 songs at a time works fairly well. That's about the length of my train ride, so it all works out in the end. Later at lunch, with the taco lettuce crunch...

We're having a meeting to discuss our team's results on the company-wide employee engagement survey that our team actually happens to run. I hope we don't go over the comments, I made a couple comments which would be embarrassing to discuss (mostly about how I could be paid better elsewhere and probably would not be around until the end of the year because of that). Actually, I'm going to pull up the report here to review it just in case... Drat, something's different with the permissions now, I can't pull up our comments report.

Hmm. Everything on my computer is acting up. The one time I actually want to get something work-related done... I blame Microsoft.

Why the hell does anybody even look at the Dow? The S&P500 is a much better index on so many levels.

I'm still coughing, so I don't think I'll actually go to that 5K charity run on Saturday. I'll still pony up some charity dough, though.

I should start studying again once I finish this book, since my test is now 5 weeks away, but I have this short new Marilynne Robinson book. It apparently takes place at the same time and place as Gilead, one of the other families in that book, so it's hard to say no. What can I say? I like Marilynne Robinson. Iowa Writers Workshop represent, yo.

I think I have a bag of chips left over from yesterday's lunch. I guess I will have something to eat for lunch today. Woo!

I watched the latest episode of Heroes last night while taking a break from other stuff. I don't know why I am punishing myself like this. Note to self: watch things that are good to watch.

< Anything but that. | I hit submit when I wanted to hit preview, but it is ok now >

That's excellent, that's totally within my "I could marry that girl" range.

She was just 17 when the show started, though.

I didn't mean you were wrong, btw. Just that it's wrong ;)

That would put my lower limit at 27 by Dr H0ffm4n (2.00 / 0) #6 Thu Oct 02, 2008 at 01:06:28 AM EST
And my upper limit at 64.

Formula is wrong.
