I switch the office light on.
Soon, I won't need to at all.

Today we ran out of apple juice so when I needed a sugar boost, I was reduced to green rivella. No other drink in the history of mankind has tasted so artificial while making a claim to be wholesome and natural. Except perhaps Sunny Delight which was bought once by accident, poured down the sink and never spoken of again.

I laugh. I can do that now as these things no longer affect me directly. Though according to some co-workers, they can feel the anger radiating from me when I speak of politics or public services in Ireland. Latest political poll showed over half those surveyed believe the leader of the country is lying about his finances to a tribunal. Same poll shows support for his party is up. Any time I try to reconcile these results my brain feels like it might explode.

Today I got some useful work done. I feel less tired when I manage to do something productive, even though it takes more energy and concentration. I've also taken 2 months off from German classes before starting one next month that is purely grammar and in a different format. Instead of a 'small' group (it was 10 people by the end), there are up to 60. First there is a lecture, and then we subdivide into group exercises. Hopefully that will suit me better than the random 'chatting' I was doing in the last course. I can do random chatting at coffee breaks for free.

I'm hungry. Damn.

And/or foreign. Either way, wrong.

I find it impossible to talk about UK politics anymore. It just drives me insane, and I find my normal calm, sensible persona dissolving in acidic vitriol.

So, instead, fluffy kittens!

They're like cattle to the Swiss - they turn 'em into coats and blankets and whatnot. Farmers say it cures the rhumatiz.

You often see great majestic herds of cats sweeping across the high alpine meadows, in their tireless search for milk, scratching posts, and their natural enemy, small felt stuffed mice. It's a sight which stirs the soul, let me tell you.

Them herds is tough to manage too. by Christopher Robin was Murdered (4.00 / 1) #4 Tue Jan 29, 2008 at 03:15:56 PM EST
"Like directing the efforts of several individualistic programmers," is how catboys often describe herding their felines.
