Scenic view of the flood control channel.

It doesn't snow where I grew up, so I still get excited like a little kid when it does. I am told that it snows like this only once every five years or so in my new hometown, but with global warming I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of... oh, wait.

Global warming will do exactly that.  Disruption of the Atlantic bottom water conveyor belt system will cause many regions of Europe and N. America to experience dramatic cooling/near ice age conditions in a worst case scenario.

It's snowing like a sumbitch, and the wind is howling.  I expect I'll have to spend a good few hours digging out in the morning.

The bitch of it is, it's supposed to rain the day after that.  If I don't shovel the snow it will probably get rained on and turn to ice and I won't be able to get up the hill for a few days.  But if I do shovel the snow it's guaranteed to all melt under the rain.  I think Heisenberg explained this phenomenon.
Buy my books, dammit!

So when it does, you hang your phone out of the window and make this panorama.
