Too broke down to want to spend long amounts of time explaining.

Thanks. Zippy's on the case.

Thanks to the folks who gave an opinion yesterday on my musical crap. I found myself thinking that those who wanted to hear it a bit more edgy didn't get what I was going for, which surprised me because I honestly thought I wanted more edge before I asked others. So, what I'm really looking for is just a touch more bark from sample one's style, and I'll be happy.

BREAK

Work crap? Yeah. It's there. For crying out loud.

Zippy b0rked up payroll over the past couple weeks. They're using a new system and somehow he got planted in the middle of it. Essentially, right at crisis point, he gets up, says he has to go to his little girl's doctor's appointment and he'll take care of it tomorrow. Destro says, "OK, see ya." And that's the end of it.

Except, today rolls around and he gets sent out to Funhouse2, so he can't work on the payroll problem today. But nobody else here has a clue what the hell he was working on, so Destro basically said let it sit until Zipster can take care of it.

The chances anyone in the company will get paid tomorrow, our normal payday? About one in fifty-seven thousand. The chances Destro will finally realize Zippy is fucking us all over? Zero.

So, between that and this constant nagging I'm getting from Brak to do this three hour update about four times a day because he just had to add a few more things? Yeah, over it.

Laterz.

Are you guys a union shop? by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #1 Thu Jan 24, 2008 at 10:28:50 AM EST
I mean, out on the shop floor? Because, if you are, not making payroll is Immediate Bad News.

Might want to polish up the old CV.

We've been told unions will not be tolerated. Because there's nothing worse than a worker that feels he deserves some sort of rights in the workplace.

Whoa. Anyone passed that on the the NLRB?

It's really time to polish up the CV, and look for another job. That place is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

It's been a lawsuit waiting to happen since day one.

The best story of all was the guy with swastika tattoos all over his body threatening to sue the company for making him cover his tattoos but not making a guy with some sort of religious tattoo cover up his tattoo. Ah, good times.

And then there's the story of how dad sold all of his stock to the company president for a dollar (several hundred thousand dollars worth at the time) to hide if from mom during the divorce, and then sold it back to him for a dollar. Then the company president got liquored up at a company party and started bragging to everybody about how they swindled mom.

Why would I leave here before retirement? When I retire and have time, I'll be able to write the funniest book in existence.

Ahhh, so staying there is your /retirement plan./ by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #7 Thu Jan 24, 2008 at 11:06:38 AM EST

Hey, we got an ESOP! by nightflameblue (2.00 / 0) #9 Thu Jan 24, 2008 at 12:01:55 PM EST
With posters all over the building proclaiming "ALL ABOARD THE ESOP EXPRESS!!" with train pictures all over them.

I'm expecting my share of the ESOP to be worth about fifty cents in another forty years when I'm close to retirement age. Of course, it won't matter because retirement will be made illegal by then. You know, the secret society masters want us to work until we die.
