So Tuesday I was sick. :( Spent the day at home. Also slept for 18 of 24 hours in there which means that even now, days later, I'm quite well rested. Unfortunately, this also means I'm not sleeping as soundly through the night. :(
Welsh Girl's new job is going alright a week into it. It's nice to have similar schedules. We actually have seen each other most evenings this week. That and since she has to go to bed at a reasonable hour, it makes me more likely to go to bed at a reasonable hour, too. That adds to my rested-ness. But since I'm not sleeping through the night as my tired self usually does, I'm more easily awakened by her. Sometimes I don't have any idea how either of us manages to get any sleep with the other in the same bed. On the other hand, I have managed to deflect her sleeping cover thief ways with greater regularity. I'd still rather sleep through it all, though.
So, my lazy painter diary a few days back, that was what I posted to my gaming group's site. That's also why I didn't go into detail on some of the GW (Games Workshop) stuff I was talking about for some of you non-gaming folks. I also started pictures for the next article I hope to have done this weekend, the one where I go over a mini step by step using my lazy methods. I was also told by a few people I should flock the minis (add some kind of texture to their bases to look like they're standing on something other than black plastic). Now, I've never been a flocker for several reasons (most primary of which being I'm lazy) but lately I've been rethinking it and I want to try an experiment. I've found a way online to make tons of cheap flock from sawdust and food coloring so I think I'm going to attempt to make my own and if it works, I think I'll flock all my minis. Imagine the looks on the faces of all those people I've been playing for years when they see all that… I may also do one on terrain making. I've made tons of it and so maybe I can inspire people to make their own terrain, too. I'm pretty lazy about that, too. In fact, now that I think bout it, I'm putting a lot of effort into how lazy I am about my hobbies. I guess that is the definition of irony…
So, over the next few weeks, Welsh Girl and I want to go around the Hill Country to a few vineyards. We're thinking that it might be cool to pick up a few cases of wine for the wedding and it'll be easier (and maybe cheaper) than buying one or two bottles every time we go to the store. Unfortunately, I don't think we can start that until next month. She still has a few shifts at her old job on the weekends and if she can't get soon to be former coworkers to take them, she'll have to. Sure, she could just quit and not show up but she figures that she's been there 5 years and she doesn't want to burn any bridges. Being someone who once called my boss at 1 AM to tell her that she wouldn't see me again after my shift the next day, I must say that Welsh Girl is a nicer person than I am.
That's about it for now. It's cold, rainy and crappy in Austin today, but at least I have leftover pizza to snack on for lunch. :) It's good to be the King (or the tyrant, as the case may be).
That is all.
