So, the dictate has come down from work.  The part time contract thing I was doing for the law firm?  Well, they're moving me to it permanently.  And they've absorbed the quasi-independent arm of the company into the greater company as of Jan 1.  As a result, as soon as they find a new person to do the stupid little duties that make my job suck, I'll be moving into the newer duties.  That means a raise and no loss of benefits and a number of other things including non-stupid work.

As for Welsh Girl, well, she interviewed with a small telecommunications firm on Friday morning.  Friday afternoon, they called her to tell her she has the job and starts Monday.  With her new salary, she'll make a hair more than I than I will post raise.
