Lunch or whatever with dark nowhere?

here.

I suggest Dim Sum at the Empire Gardens in Chinatown. It's half a block north of Washington and Kneeland. Friday the 5th is somewhat better for me, but I could probably also do Thursday the 4th. 12:30?

Okay, we're not in the middle of things, exurbanite that I am, but you are more than welcome. This is a case of thought expressed to convey regard, with reality following if you desire.

tf and ana say they can hook us up with bed-space. Will you & husband be able to come into town for dinner or a drink or something though?

and feel bad for not offering my sympathies. I imagine that would feel very violating. It would be nice to talk to him again (perhaps even while (at least initially) sober this time!) but I understand that childcare can be tricky. Hopefully something can be figured out.

That works. by ana (2.00 / 0) #8 Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 07:13:34 AM EST
In the unlikely event that our softball team wins its first playoff game this weekend (without us, for the first time all summer), we'll be playing the afternoon of the 6th. Otherwise, it's weekend as usual. You're welcome to share our guest room with the critters.

let me know when the day is confirmed by iGrrrl (2.00 / 0) #3 Wed Sep 26, 2007 at 11:27:56 PM EST
I think I can do either.

Alas by aethucyn (2.00 / 0) #6 Wed Sep 26, 2007 at 11:59:30 PM EST
lunches are still an impossibility for me, and next week is even an impossible week for playing hooky as two people are on vacation (read: I'll be doing the work of three people). But evening drinks would be appreciated some time, I'm sure.

Thursdays and Fridays by Kellnerin (2.00 / 0) #7 Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 06:58:57 AM EST
are not good lunch days for me due to standing meetings (the Thursday one seems to be more fidgety than standing still, which makes it less conducive to planning -- I might could make Thursday, but won't know till mid-next week).

You used 'might could'! by toxicfur (2.00 / 0) #10 Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 07:17:40 AM EST
I can't tell you how happy that makes me. I was in graduate school before I learned it wasn't 'standard' English, and nothing quite so nicely conveys that particular meaning.

Regardless, I hope you can make it for lunch. I think we're leaning toward Thursday. ("Does Thursday Next work for you?" ana says. My first thought is "No, she works for the literary crimes division....")

Thursday Next by Kellnerin (4.00 / 1) #14 Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 08:51:10 PM EST
I'll try. I think it all depends on what conference rooms are available when (sad, isn't it).

I do love "might could" though. It really should be in more common usage. If I ever get a job as, say, a television writer, I'm going to give one of my characters that as a verbal tic, and hope it catches on.

Sounds like by ana (2.00 / 0) #9 Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 07:15:13 AM EST
Thursday's likely the day. Hope you can make it, Kellnerin. If you have inputs to the drinks time and/or venue, aethucyn, we can pass them along over lunch when that's being arranged.

It depends on what happens at the vet on the 3rd.

Also, if you have some spare time, I'd recommend this.

I'm game for either day, of course. Saturday evening my party be up for drinks at wherever seems appropriate.

I am not your dupe account.
