I just opened this account and ...

the email went to 'bulk'...? Maybe it's something to do with yahoo! mail?

It's because by blixco (3.83 / 6) #1 Fri Sep 21, 2007 at 01:08:40 PM EST
you didn't sign up for the premium account, where the email isn't relayed through a virtual host that most spam filters think is spam.

I am not sure I understand what you are by husiacct (4.00 / 2) #2 Fri Sep 21, 2007 at 01:11:53 PM EST
saying, however it is true that it is a free account.

I am not sure what relaying email through a virtual host means, or how it thinks it is spam as a result.

Is this because the mail domain isn't authenticated properly? However, that would be on the HuSi side, no? Unless you are saying that yahoo mail servers are different for the different types of accounts, and that using a virtual domain mail server on the yahoo side makes yahoo think that mail going to it more likely to think it is spam?

But why just HuSi and not all domains then?

None of the above. by blixco (4.00 / 3) #3 Fri Sep 21, 2007 at 01:14:29 PM EST
I'd suggest first learning how email works.

Then how spam filters work.

Then how email works with spam filters.

Then how you interact with them.

Then, I'd send a request to yahoo asking them to whitelist mail from husi's domain.  But only then.  Not until then.

In fact, it could turn into quite the informative series.

I know not of this Egil you speak by husiacct (2.50 / 2) #8 Fri Sep 21, 2007 at 04:23:44 PM EST
google is not helpful:

Egil, son of Skalla-Grim?

Even the ordinarily helpful wikipedia:

makes no sense of your comment.

I am a viking?
