The longer I leave between diaries the less I have to write about.

Is there any use for employment agents.

Can I escape the games industry?

Do I want to?

I guess it's just that if I leave it a long time I feel a need to say something worth waiting for.  If I leave it a day or two, I can talk about what I had for lunch (Lettuce, SDT, bacon olive and red onion salad with vinegraitte dressing if you're interested - I've been trying carb free lunches to see if I have more afternoon energy).

If the companies advertised directly, I'd apply directly.  The trouble is, all the job sites have only agencies advertising.  And you can't even apply for a specific position because they just want to pitch you to every company out there.  And they all phone you up and they all know exactly the same batch of companies.  Half of them I've already applied to.

So what else can I do?  I could do other C/C++ stuff.  I even know assembler but I don't think I have enough experience for embedded software (despite years of DOS programming).  Or I could learn C#.

But it all looks so exceedingly dull!!!

and there's still no guarentee that I'd be able to stay in lovely Brighton.

God, I'm mopey amn't I?  Maybe this is angsty enough for LJ.

Give into your hatred and join us in User Support, and we shall mold you into a weapon of unimaginable bitterness and apathy.

except for the wages, the abuse and the mis-management.

Are you in management?

"The longer I leave between diaries the less I have to write about."

I would suggest that an alternate interpretation might be more accurate. The longer you leave between diaries the less your tendency is to write about them.

However, it may be that some third variable which induces you to write in diaries at all is also responsible for your selection of things to write about.

If you need motivation, that's a whole nother ball of wax.
