Second thing, my German is more flowing, my comprehension quicker and more accurate than people who have been living here for for three years, though the topic was probably relevant. I think I explained about 70 times in my first week why I moved country so having to explain it again probably sounded slicker than I am realistically capable of. Also, it is hoch, and the teacher speaks clearly, slowly and with a minimum of slang so it is much much easier to pick out words.
Third thing, in a work context I still sound like a child and cannot produce documentation in German that is fit to read.
So, the course is good for my ego and my grammar, but work is good for my vocab and aural and written comprehension. I have the option of moving up a level for free but I will wait and see for the first few and check what the teacher thinks.
