So, if you remember the story: a while ago I tried to buy some trousers.
As so often happens, I couldn't fit into my previous 32'' waist.
I tried dieting, got back to my old weight, but it seemed middle-aged spread had still stopped me fitting in to trousers unstretched by my expanding belly.
Then last week, I ripped my favourite combats while moving a washing machine.
Decided to replace them, with exactly the same versions, only in the 34'' waist instead.
Now behold!
34'' waists are on the top, 32'' waists at the bottom

Yet you can see: the labels are different, but both pairs of combats are exactly the same size.
Guys, it's just as we've always suspected. THEY'RE MAKING THE TROUSERS SMALLER.

Having a quick holiday in Belgium for a few days, leaving tomorrow.
Will be staying in Brussels: the plan is to use it as a base and make day
trips.
Any travel advice on Belgium?
Didn't really have any preferences, so chose one of Lastminute.com's "Top Secret Hotels" where they don't tell you what the hotel is until you've booked it. Managed to guess correctly which it was from the description, and TripAdviser seems to think it's fairly OK.
It's a market segmentation thing: the same hotel showed up on the search results under its real name, but at a slightly higher price. Will let you know if it's a disaster.
