Many things

Dunno if anyone else is turning up at the (B/W)Anchor tomorrow night. I am because it's on my way home and I shall need beer by then.

Trainer gave us 20 sample (multi-guess) questions in preparation for tomorrow's ISEB/BCS Architect exam. I got one wrong - which is shaming, but it's because I picked the sensible answer rather than the answer that nobody except a project manager or an academic would give. At least I know to expect that now.

Saturday still planning to head to Gloucestershire to see the wreckage of the family home and give any assistance. Renting a big-fuck-off wet&dry vac is proving difficult. Will have a think on other possible strategies for getting water out from under the floorboards (ohrworm "this is a pong from under the floorboards").

SD was impressed by TPD's most recent geetaring effort. I played it to her the the idea of encouraging practising. You never know.

I have rants about public transport (both the "transport" and the "public" bit) but I have not the energy to type things.

it looks like quite early for me - should be out of here by 3:30. Might have to go in search of food first.

Wagamama is (was) an easily accessible commodity. Nandos is an important UK cultural experience not accessible in Ireland (or Switzerland), along with fizzy Vimto, decent scrumpy, and until comparatively recently, ready salted crisps.

I'll at least drop in for one or 4.... I guess I'll be there about 6:30 ish maybe earlier depending on work.

And thanks for the compliment on the guitar, recording yourself at a fairly regular basis is one of the best ways to keep motivated, even when you feel in a rut and like you're not progressing at all listening to how you've improved over time is a real good motivator.

Wet and dry vacs by nebbish (2.00 / 0) #5 Fri Jul 27, 2007 at 05:14:48 AM EST
Like gold dust at the moment, we spent ages trying to get one for work. Dehumidifiers too.

(BTW - we have been advised that dehumidifiers are dead importanmt for getting the damp out of any wood that might have got damaged, which might split or start to rot otherwise)
