went to the Fields of Rock metal festival in 't Harde on the weekend with E and Mx.

two sentence per band rundown inside.

now with poll

MEGADETH: summoned a rainstorm by playing Symphony of Destruction. we stayed dry by making pirate hats out of motorhead posters.

MOTORHEAD: still play rock and fucking roll an order of magnitude harder than any band a third their age. Lemmy owns the stage.

KORN: lived up to CC's claim (almost ten years ago) that they're worth seeing live whether you like their music or not. must reacquire Life is Peachy.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES: still play good music, but haven't aged as well as Motorhead: more like milk, less like whiskey. also, you'd think that after so many years they would have learned that no-one likes it when you talk for five minutes before every song.

VELVET REVOLVER: should really know better. please stop encouraging them.

OZZY OSBOURNE: wasn't a good enough reason to wait around for an hour and a half after a long, wet, hot, drunk day. As such, he only gets one sentence.

one of these days - and can imagine live they kick serious amounts of arseage.

It's got to be either Suicidal Tendencies for me ("I saw your mummy - and your mummy is DEAD!"), I know nothing of their later stuff though.

Or Ozzy for the Randy Rhoads stuff.

after much deliberation, (heads it is), I'll go with Ozzy.

The only band on that list that I've actually seen live though is Megadeth

few default bands. The ones that, no matter what, I'll listen to them. Very few. Most music conjures or requires.

Some of it just rocks. Early Stones is like that for me, and Motorhead, man, fucking Motorhead. Fuck. Yeah. "Ace of Spades" at any time of the day or night is perfectly acceptable.

where they played ace of spades on repeat for six hours. you could collect pledges for how many times you could listen to it. best rock and roll set i've ever heard played at a hipster club.

Saw them "perform" at the Roskilde festival last year. Pathetic. Monsignor Weiland (aside: anybody who performs with Fred Durst should be taken outside and gently shot) was prancing all over in tight leather pants like a post-op tranny on meth.
I'll tolerate the antics of Mike Patton any day over that shit.

ST has always done the same darned thing. I saw them 13 years ago, and I kept thinking "just play some more songs dude."
