Rubbing salt into my wounds since 1976...

Urbi et Orbi

Josh Hancock's dad has announced he's going to sue the restaurant where his son got all liqueured up before he drove drunk, putting the life of all those on the road at risk, before offing himself by hitting a stationary tow-truck at a high rate of speed, because obviously his death has to be someone else's fault? Right? Obviously those heinous restaurant-ere bastards tied his poor dead son down and forced liqueur down his pie-hole, then forced him, at gun-point, to drive at a high rate of speed while talking on his cell phone, while he was twice the legal limit of intoxication. Oh the humanity. I think we should burn his waitress at the stake, after we properly stone her, just to show the world that we don't condone this sort of behaviour.

Well, thanks be to God there is some sanity on the planet, as the Democrats took the time to pull GWB's rod from their anal cavities and sign an iRaqii spending bill that also includes billions of dollars for other domestic stuff as well! Wooo! Way to come in and get spending under control guys! Way to hold GWB accountable for the billions of wasted dollars spent in iRaq!!! I hope you enjoyed your anal pounding - at least you'll have that as a memory when you're unemployed after the 08 elections!!!!

Last night I stopped by the local book borrowing place and intended to check out the Best of the Super Bowl DVD but instead I accidentally, by pure happenstance, picked up the best of Trading Spaces DVD. Look - it was an honest mistake, could've happened to anyone. Firstly - Paige Davis was pretty hot. Secondly - most of the designs were heinous. Thirdly - much of it was actually pretty amusing.

Good lord, I sure hope this won't be my new lot in life - watching home decorating shows and yelling at kids to get off my fucking lawn... Maybe if I get some old episodes of This Old House, which is decidedly more manly, it will even out the decorating stuff. One thing I know for certain though - you won't find one green wall in Castle El Abooey when it's all said and done. No sir, not one.

Right. Three day weekend, BBQ's blah blah blah visit Smallville for more BBQ's blah blah blah etc etc.

highway, and the two truck driver. What an ass.

Sure, Bob, sure, you're not going to become one of those home decor cultists. I bet you've already designed your walk in shoe closet.

God help me by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #2 Fri May 25, 2007 at 05:24:41 AM EST
No - no plans for a shoe closet yet - but I'd be less than forthright if I said I haven't been looking at lawn-mowers and stuff to build a workbench for the garage - even though I don't have any need for a workbench.

Warmest regards,

They took 2 of 3 from the Tribe by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #4 Fri May 25, 2007 at 05:48:41 AM EST
For some reason they always play like the 27 Yankees when they play the Tribe. Why can't they just lie down and let us pound them like the drunken schoolgirls that they are.

Warmest regards,

Oh sure - they're hot too by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #7 Fri May 25, 2007 at 05:59:23 AM EST
But I thought Paige was especially cute, maybe a bit too thin, but perky and cute nonetheless.

The DVD was from the first two years episodes.

also, i don't have to bother with the best of, as i probably watched most of the first 2 or 3 seasons when they aired. it's all ridiculous crap now though they don't really "decorate" on those shows anymore.

Wow. There's only 2 by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #8 Fri May 25, 2007 at 06:10:44 AM EST
Big Orange Boxes in Clevesburgh. How are you going to buy your tools and stuff after watching Home Improvement Porn?

I still like This Olde House the best. Although Norm's gettin a bit old. And hefty.

3 Day weekend! Going to Ocean City for Surf Sun, and looking at the Wild North American Booby! Woo Hoo!

In fact, it's time to leave.

This would be more appropriate.

Truth be told I've never been in one of those. I imagine it will be a real watershed moment on the day I pass through the doors, credit card in hand...

it's fun to look back at the first couple of seasons (don't they play on DIY or some such?) and see how young and thin they all were.

I think I've figured something out by Bob Abooey (4.00 / 1) #24 Fri May 25, 2007 at 11:22:41 AM EST
Clock, a generally easy-going guy by all respects, seems to dislike Paige Davis quite a bit. As such I'm starting to piece this together.
  1. Stacky buys a house.
  2. Stacky starts watching Trading Spaces
  3. Paige Davis has an episode where she talks the people into painting their wall this, uh, unique shade of pea-green.
  4. Stacky - simply taking the advise of an expert (Paige Davis) paints her walls that same shade of, uh, unique pea-green
  5. Clock marries Stacky and moves into her house.
  6. Clock sees the walls and finds out that Paige Davis is responsible for the colour.
  7. Clock develops a seething hatred for the cute and perky Paige Davis.
QED.

Warmest regards,
--Your best pal Bob

Did you know that Hancock's father is also by greyrat (2.00 / 0) #9 Fri May 25, 2007 at 06:12:56 AM EST
suing the towing company for going out to clear the road, the tow truck driver for doing what his company told him to do, AND -- get this -- the owner of the van that needed to be towed for breaking down? I almost drove off the road laughing (a couple miles from the accident site BTW) when I heard that on the radio last night.

I want to know why he isn't suing MODOT for putting a highway there.

Seriously, if the guy was dumb enough to drink too much, dumb enough to turn down the offer of a cab, dumb enough to drive drunk, dumb enough to talk on his cell while driving drunk, dumb enough to speed (I'll bet on cruise) while talking on his cell while driving drunk and dumb enough to not watch what was coming up while speeding while talking on his cell while driving drunk, he deserves exactly what he got and his dad should deal with it like a man instead of grubbing on a bunch of innocent bystanders.

Oops. I guess you did. by greyrat (2.00 / 0) #10 Fri May 25, 2007 at 06:17:37 AM EST

That's a wee bit harsh, I don't think he got what he deserved. I mean I'm sorry the guy died but he was 100% at fault for it.

Having watched this unfold as a local news story, by greyrat (2.00 / 0) #13 Fri May 25, 2007 at 06:38:46 AM EST
driving over the very same bit of highway almost every day and with the innuendos on boozing and all, this suit thing just pushed me past the "feeling sorry but at fault" level to the "overpaid spoiled brat got what he deserved and his dad should bugger off" level.

Well by Bob Abooey (4.00 / 2) #14 Fri May 25, 2007 at 06:46:42 AM EST
If you want to blame his father I'm okay with that. After all - he's the bloke who raised a kid who grew up to be a drunk driver. In fact maybe the guy should sue himself eh?

Boy - he was a real beacon of morality this guy.

the part of the lawsuit that should be tossed by dev trash (2.00 / 0) #26 Fri May 25, 2007 at 04:53:37 PM EST
Suing the owner of the car because they had the GALL to stall their car and get disabled.
