No, really, proof!!

  • He's a foreigner.
  • He was in the Bay Area when a major transit corridor was blown up.
  • He was visiting one person who is likely an Arab and a known liberal.

Unfortunately, the crafty bastard left before I could bring him to justice.

In other news, tomorrow's commute is going to suck. Not because this overpass is on my commute. Because all the people on that commute will now take my train tomorrow to get to work.

/me cries.

They also helpfully made the train free, so that even more annoying people will be on my train.

/me sobs.

The only good news to come out of all of this is that because the driver lived, we can make jokes about it immediately.

Traffic in the Bay Area is scary...not because it is as bad as places like LA, but because it is so dependent on choke points. The best detour you can make around this exploded overpass would add an extra half-hour...if there were no traffic.

I've witnessed him crossing the border into the U.S. from Mexico.

Hey that's strange. by blixco (4.00 / 1) #3 Sun Apr 29, 2007 at 11:29:04 PM EST
The freeway fire?  Same thing happened 10 or so years ago when that same stretch was challenged by a propane truck.  The freeway lost after melting.

PWNED, AMERICA! by MohammedNiyalSayeed (4.00 / 1) #4 Mon Apr 30, 2007 at 12:04:39 AM EST

They spelled my goddamn name wrong, too:

"Mosqueda, an employee of Sabek Transportation in San Francisco for 10 months, got out of the truck on his own after it overturned and hailed a taxi that took him to Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, witnesses and police said."

Mosqueda? Where the fuck did they get that? Fucking blogger-citizen-journalists! SAY MY NAME, BITCH! SAY IT!

Seriously, though, good on Mosqueda for bailing the fuck out in time. Bad on him for being another "single-vehicle collision". Fucking dorks.

I'm on to your crafty plan by ucblockhead (4.00 / 1) #11 Mon Apr 30, 2007 at 11:05:55 AM EST
Clearly "Mosqueda" is a reference to "Mos-Qaeda", the religious wing of "Al-Qaeda".

Choke points by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #7 Mon Apr 30, 2007 at 07:34:43 AM EST
we got them here in DCia too. Two major freeway bridges over the Potomac, and several smaller ones over it in the city.

It sucks by ucblockhead (2.00 / 0) #10 Mon Apr 30, 2007 at 11:04:43 AM EST
One of the few nice things about San Diego is that the lack of open bodies of water meant that if a freeway or major artery went out, there was always another way.

lolwhat? by theantix (2.00 / 0) #15 Mon Apr 30, 2007 at 03:24:34 PM EST
Unless there are two San Diegos out there, is there not an small open body of water slightly to the west of the city?

Seriously, though by ucblockhead (2.00 / 0) #20 Mon Apr 30, 2007 at 06:30:49 PM EST
It's not in a place where the vast majority of San Diego commuters have to drive over/around it.

Also, it neglects to mention that I left a suspicious device* on a train and then left the state.
