I never liked Adequacy. I thought it was crass, unsubtle and far less intelligent than it seemed to give itself credit for (in a manner noxiously similar to that of The Onion). I was also unimpressed for much the same reason that, by and large, I don't like Borat, or programmes like '3 Non Blondes' and 'Balls of Steel'. Sure, they can be funny, but not through inherent talent. The general public are all too idiotic by themselves; we know. Don't encourage them, eh?
It appears, however, that I may have been mistaken. The longer it keeps being effective, the funnier it gets. That people still haven't figured it out itself becomes the joke.

I agree adequacy was not always laugh out loud funny to everyone, but it was always extremely amusing for the editors. Which was the sole point. If the readership found it amusing that was an added bonus, but it was never the intention.--
