John McCain is running For President!

Dressed in a dark blue sweater under cloudy skies on the banks of the Piscataqua River, McCain formally announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination, saying he alone possesses the experience, maturity and seriousness to be president in a time of war and domestic uncertainty.

The thing I like best about being a conservative is that I don't have to lie. I don't have to pretend that men and women are the same. I don't have to declare that failed or oppressive cultures are as good as mine. I don't have to say that everyone's special or that the rich cause poverty or that all religions are a path to God. I don't have to claim that a bad writer like Alice Walker is a good one or that a good writer like Toni Morrison is a great one. I don't have to pretend that Islam means peace.

The culture warriors in Australia make the claim that multiculturalism requires that no culture is better than the other. Which is untrue and a fabrication. Multiculturalism is the liberty for an individual to pursue their cultural interests without coercion. Suddenly it doesn't seem so bad. IMO it is because the conservative requires culture to be so central to national health, that the fear that their culture is inferior, or unable to compete in the marketplace of cultural liberty, gives them fits. Cultural liberty devalues the state, it authority, and the state's ability to nurture, heal and grow the individual under the state's familial wing.

As to gender, meh, liberalism is about political equality. So another strawman. The rest are strawmans too. If it makes him feel better and internally complete - fine.

If you look at genetics, specifically dog species, it's not the inbred fucked up "pure" dog breeds that are superior. It's the mutts that are the best dogs. Moncultural nations suck ass and are doomed to failure because not only are their strengths magnified, but so are their weaknesses. One of the things that has helped the U.S. not fall thus far is the fact that we have always been multi-cultural and rather than having a distinctly American culture, we pick and choose the bits we like from other cultures.

He's quoting someone else. He says
