Anyway, it's actually assembled using Photoshop's inbuilt photo stitching thingy, which usually does a terrible job but this time seemed to come up with something that looks reasonable if you don't spot the slight colour change in the sky halfway across...--

On the other hand, the dictionary doesn't seem to make any distinction. Interestingly Wikipedia seems to suggest that stitching was the original method used:
