Well, this year I finally found a decent job that I think I'm going to be with for a while. Sure, their clients are usually "the bad guy", but someone has to do it and sometimes, just sometimes, we help the little guy too so I think I'll stay for a while.
My friends are doing well. One may be getting a house in San Antonio, but he's up here every weekend anyway. JonBoy (the one with the ex-Russian bride) has a decent job and his illegal alimony order is going before the State Supreme Court. "Barry" is happy with his classic VW Bug and new computer and I am very happy with his old computer.
Spent a weekend in the spare room of a certain Webwench and her beau (who, as far as I know, doesn't not have a moniker or handle and I don't want to use his real name) in scenic Hotlanta. And a lovely time was had by all. :)
I've been able to play a lot more 40K this year since the group formed. Sure, I haven't won any of the campaigns, but that doesn't matter. What matters is putting all these minis on the table and wrecking havoc. That and it's got me painting again. Granted, it's infrequent, but I'm doing it and that's what's important. Yes, the Wizards and Hobbits flowed like water this year.
And then, of course, there's Welsh Girl, the apple of my eye, the sugar in my tea, the lurve of my misspent life. Today, we're putting a down payment on our wedding rings. A fitting end to a wonderful year, if you ask me...
I thought last year was the best year of my life until this year. And I'm already beginning to think that this coming year will be even better.
So, here's to 2007 and all of you (and I do mean you guys) who have made my life a better one to live.
And here's to 2008 and all the happiness I hope you all will have.
And, lastly, here's to us and those like us. So damned few are left.
