Nuts.  Just found out about trhurler.

I fondest internet memories were jabbing him as Dr. Cortez.  Nothing is better than calling him Trevor Hurler or Dr. Tobias Raymond Hurler.

I find it amazing that only in his death do we learn of his real name.  He managed to keep his online persona well hidden, even after 19,239 comments, 6 stories and 280 diaries.

Interestingly, I found this memorial video.

Rest in peace good Dr. Tobias Raymond John Adelsberger Hurler III sir.  You will be missed.

Interesting by Bob Abooey (4.00 / 1) #1 Fri Nov 30, 2007 at 05:01:31 PM EST
I remember the "don't call me TR" diary which he posted with the intent of trolling people into calling him T.R, which we all did of course.

The real interesting thing is that someone posted what the tr actually stands for! It was right there in front of our faces the whole time.

I don't know - I think I can do without watching the photo-montage, I'd rather remember him as I saw him in my mind, not as some nerdy guy with goofy glasses and bad hair.

Warmest regards,

ahh the good old days by coryking (2.00 / 0) #2 Fri Nov 30, 2007 at 05:13:50 PM EST
Ahh the days of yore when trolls were trolls.  Kids these days with their new age crapfloods, fancy glow sticks and offensive nicknames.  Back in my day, we knew how to troll dammit.

spiralx got it too...

... What the hell ever happened to that guy?  Or was I teh trolled? er, never mind.

I missed the spiralx comment.

Yeah - I feel kinda old but the old school trolls had some class - it wasn't all crude crapflood comments.

Warmest regards,

and I was kinda leary of making this comment...  I wonder what he'd think about having that video hosted on myspace :-)

I think lots of people knew his real name. I did, someone liked to something about him or outright posted his name years ago. I can't recall which, and I'm not about to try to find the comment.

That being said, he certainly didn't advertise his real name, and I recall him being pissed when it was revealed. I can understand that, it wouldn't take too much digging to figure out mine or the missus, but we'd really rather people didn't.
