The Amiga, back from the dead with AmigaOS 5.0 due out

Amiga, Inc. has plans to release AmigaOS 5.0 sometimes within the next year or so. Let us hope that they actually have a working hardware system to install AmigaOS 5.0 on, because they didn't seem to have working systems for AmigaOS 4.0 because the license to make Amiga compatible hardware for OS4 ran out when OS4 finally came out in 2006, and it was promised in 1999.

But Amiga, Inc. doesn't want to go into the details right now until a lawsuit is settled over OS4.

Nobody has any idea of what AmigaOS 5.0 will look like or be able to run on. Amiga, Inc. is being sued over Amiga OS 4, as the company Hyperion developed it for Amiga, Inc. and claims rights to the source code.

I still have an Amiga 500 that runs AmigaDOS 2.0 on it, I think 3.1 is when they changed AmigaDOS to AmigaOS.

I just hope that Amiga, Inc. pulls an Apple and ports OS5 to the Intel X86 standard, so we can run it on PC systems.
