The B.A.D.TM

A latte-drinking, sushi-eating, Body-Piercing, Volvo-driving, New York Times-reading, Hollywood-loving, left-wing freak show since 1978...

Let's get this straight, I'm a man of the people.

I don't care if you're short or tall, black or white, stupid or dumb, shy or brash, frumpy or spiffy, I have equal disdain for all. Okay. That said, you, the unwashed masses, and I, some dopey guy with bad hair, both know that if some old white fart, say Wilford Brimley, opened up a school for WHITE boys, you would have guys like Jessie Jackson and Louis Farrakhan out there marching and screaming about racism and how the black man is being oppressed by The Man, but when fat dopey Oprah opens a school for black girls she's a friggin hero. A fat friggin hero I tell you. That's all I have to say about it.

We've been having some freaky good weather here in Ohia since the Democrats have taken over Congress. And not only that has anyone else but me noticed that there have been ZERO terrorist attacks on US soil since they took power! Fuckin-aye, it's nice to finally have some competent leaders who are strong against the terra-ists, lets hope they keep up the good work.

Speaking of work, I'm doing quite well with my 2007 goals. I've eaten vegetables THREE times since the first! Another goal was to centralise and organize my stuff, like to-do lists and whatnot. Along those lines I found this FREE (like mp3) Pim which seems to work real well and functions pretty much as I would like it to. So I'm kicking some major arse there. Plus, I've read this book (which is quite good) and started to put a plan in place, which, unless you're as dumb as a stump, may give you some kind of indication as to another one of my goals for this year.

Speaking of 2007, I've eaten lunch FOUR times, and after today, in about an hour as a matter of fact, that number will be FIVE. Today I'm going to feast on carbs carbs and more carbs, as I plan on dining on a rigatoni dinner, with the special side salad of course. I may even get a "bowl" of soup if'n they have any gumbo. Gumbo, that's the one true soup.

And finally I'm happy to report that Cincinnati beat Boston in game three last night to go ahead 2 games to 1! BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!! Game four is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, I sure hope they keep it up and kill those heinous looooosahs!!

bob, I'm not sure properly prepared gumbo qualifies as a soup. Maybe more in the chowdah family, like the bahstah chowdah heads (and you gotta say what year, man. Like I'd waste precious brain cells memorizing the world series teams for the past 50 years)..

And you'd leave OMM ? What about the great parties he throws every year ? The lone office on the deserted floor ? You'd give up all those perks ? hmm.. Well, I know of some great openings in PGH if you are interested..

Well by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #3 Fri Jan 05, 2007 at 12:22:38 PM EST
It'll be tough to give up my afternoon naps, but I'm getting right tired of never knowing when my paycheque is going to be good.

re: You need to read yesterday's diary to know what year WS (75) I'm talking about. Good gravy man, pay attention.

Warmest regards,
--Your best pal Bob

You go ahead and spend hours editing your resolv.conf, I've got real work to do and don't have the time to play with that kids stuff.

Plus, what about support? What happens when my server goes down at 3:00 in the morning? Am I supposed to just hop on to usenet and pray to Allah that the 12 year old kid in who wrote the latest kernel patch happens to be up and willing to help me??? Linux! Ha!

with Windows it doesn't matter when your computer goes down - no matter what time of day, no one can help you.

You just follow the Windows help script:

Reboot.

Did that help? Cool!

That didn't help? Reinstall from disk.

That didn't help? Buy a new machine.

I don't know about that. by Christopher Robin was Murdered (4.00 / 1) #5 Fri Jan 05, 2007 at 12:39:35 PM EST
I bet if Wilford Brimley found a country where whites had been the targets of nearly a century of colonial oppression - 80 of those years under a brutal system of legalized and institution-wide neglect and abuse - and he opened up a school for white boys, folks would be pretty stoked about it.

I don't know where he'd find such a country, but still, if he could, I'd wager folks would think it was pretty boss.

I just think you're grossly underestimating the vast, if often overlooked, political base of Mr. Brimley. I think just about anything Willy B. did would be whole-heartedly embraced by the public at large.

As an aside, I didn't see anything in the article about the school being restricted to girls of African descent. Did you pick that bit of the story up from Newsmax?

That's just the ignorance talking. by Christopher Robin was Murdered (4.00 / 1) #22 Fri Jan 05, 2007 at 05:03:49 PM EST
Apparently the student body is multi-racial. Of the 152 students, one is white. This is about almost 1% of the student body, a number which, incidentally, matches racial make-up of South Africans living below the poverty line according to the last World Bank/South African government funded study.

So, not only is the school not only for blacks, but its student body accurately reflects the community from which the students were culled.

If Wilfred paid such close attention to answering diversity issues in his school, I'm certain nobody would have a problem with it.

Funny, I was just talking . .. . by slozo (2.00 / 0) #17 Fri Jan 05, 2007 at 02:12:14 PM EST
. . . to a South African today about the Oprah school. He was telling me that in the 70's, they burned a whole bunch of gov't run schools, because, well, it was run by the gov't, and everything to do with the gov't was considered bad. So a whole generation or two didn't get schooling at all because of this, and in general, they desperately need these schools built.

Haven't heard anyting about it being a school only for brown-skinned people, but knowing Oprah, she proably built one in a real poor district where they really needed it (she'd get help from Mandela I'm sure), and it'd be no whites there anyways.

The farther north of I-10 you get, the worse the gumbo gets.  They're probably just feeding you muddy water up there.

Every southerner knows that gumbo is a stew.

And if it is't thickened with okra, it's not gumbo.

Uncle Jack's Sub Shoppe clearly has it listed under the Soup of the Day heading on the menu. Ipso Facto I don't know how I can come to any other conclusion.

He probably puts beef stew under "Soup of the Day," as well.

Plus, you have dodged the critical okra issue.
