I didn't want to mess with the song structure itself but I felt like it needed more. 

First I used SoundForge to isolate various sections of the raw audio so they'd be easier to work with.  Then I used FruityLoops 6 to piece the tracks back together with some new stuff.

The guitar, bass and vocals in the song are still the originals.  I added a bit of equalization to just about everything, enhanced the guitar with some flange and boosted the bass guitar.

Then I upped the beat a little with new drums, and added an FM synth throughout the song that just followed the chord progression.
