As per Stark's request.

Like I said in an earlier comment, most of the pictures taken with the new camera (Olympus E-500) so far have not been mind blowing.  These three are the among the best, but not worth writing home about.

A view of the rock wall and flower bed in my backyard.  I used a Zuiko Digital 40-150 lens from 25 feet distance.

Same location and lens, zoomed max.

A puppy!  Roscoe playing in the Castle River, southern Alberta.  Didn't frame this properly, but the look in his eyes as he chases the stick is great.  Same lens.

BAXTAR doesn't like getting wet, but then he doesn't spend much time near lakes either.

now that I think about it, he does sometimes go jumping into the marsh at the dog park. Makes for some fun cleanup.

It's quite interesting to see what the minimum focussing (focal?) distance is - ie. how close you can get to the subject with your lens and still be able to focus. You can often get really good shots of flowers this way.
U.S. Patent 5443036 concerns a device for encouraging a cat to exercise by chasing a light spot.
