Okay, so they say that they need to cut out smoking amongst children.  Fine, raise the age to buy cigarettes (amongst other smoking things) to 18, make television commercials, whatever.

But, to be quite honest, don't fuck with the classics.  I mean, after all, those classic cartoons should definitely not be fucked with.  I have no problem with people having an issue with smoking.  I mean, hell, I don't like smoking, and I'm an smoker.  But seriously to edit classic cartoons?

The biggest problem here is that I would be convicted of murder if I were the one to simply slit the throats of the people who have pushed for this sort of legislation.  No justice, at all, apparently.

well, as long as they don't go back and cut all the times bugs bunny says "what a maroon" or calls somebody a spade.

"Akindele said cartoons would only be modified "where smoking could be deemed to be cool or glamorized," and that scenes where a villain was featured with a cigarette or cigar would not necessarily be cut.  "

good stuff. well if you like it, go buy it on dvd and save it. who watches that old crap anyway? the new stuff like cowboy bebop makes smoking really glamorous anyway.

they edited all the Warner Bros. cartoons to take out the "violence". All the Road Runner cartoons went black as soon as the coyote went over the cliff.
