Anyway, so much great stuff in that store, so little tolerance for clutter back here at the office. I meandered through the aisleways of cheapo toys - plastic barbarian axes, bows with suction-cup arrows, fantastically ugly pencil holders (I bought one of these) and cheap shoe insoles (which I also bought, in the hopes of extending the life expectancy of my new super-comfy Ben Sherman sneakers.)
The Elton John song "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" played as we shoppers shopped, and pretty much everyone I passed by, including myself was singing along. A pretty black woman with short hair was giving it a great effort, competing with John himself for vocalization.
I was also fortunate enough to see a homeless dude pushing the homeless fashion envelope. Dressed in a typically heavy set of layers for summer, as homeless people do, including a hoodie and an old baseball cap. To finish it off however, he was wearing half of an old basketball on top of the cap. Truly, the heighth of fashion. The white lines of goo on his face were perhaps a little too much though.
I cut through the notorious Milky Way back alley on the way back, where it is allegedly common to see folks shooting up or wanking off. No such sightings thus far.
Now enjoying a spinach/squash/chickpea roti from Baccus, trying to keep the keyboard from getting too greasy and trying not to think about the white goo.
