And it's time, time, time.

Right: Let's end this thing. The inaugural spacejack Comic Fun Challenge has run to its natural conclusion and the deadline has long-since trajectorized sharkwards.

Concepts have been realized, urine has been extracted and numerous fine pieces have been inked.

We have entries. Time to vote.

Update [2006-6-4 17:39:31 by yicky yacky]: The voting deadline has passed. Final results within.

Rules: There were rules to the original challenge, most of which barely survived the first six hours. Splitting the entries into two separate voting groups was one option, as was being a big meanie and arbitrarily disqualifying those who'd gotten a little too creative. However: A major problem was that some of the rule-breaking entries were superb, and I don't like playing Hitler anyway. Part of me thinks that those who stuck to the confines of the challenge should be given more props, and part of me doesn't care. So I'm leaving it completely open: Let your votes reflect your feelings on the matter.

Procrastination Warning: Please be advised that some of the following are not necessarily complete and may change slightly before the voting deadline.

Voting: Voting will close at 9pm UTC on Sunday 4th June.

The Results

On the dot of the deadline, the voting stood as follows:

Phat props and thanks to all who entered. Anorexic props and thanks to everyone who voted. There were many decent entries, both chucklesome and thought-provoking. Great stuff.

The official final results:

It's not quite how I voted, by spacejack (4.00 / 4) #3 Sun May 28, 2006 at 12:55:25 PM EST
but I thought JustSomeGuyYouKnow's HUCFC was the funniest for some reason, followed closely by TPD's and calla's entries.

I for one was a little disappointed there were no ascii art entries :(

Yip by yicky yacky (4.00 / 2) #6 Sun May 28, 2006 at 01:25:41 PM EST

JustSomeGuyYouKnow's effort brought the lollerskates, but there are a lot of good ones. Once again, HuSi never quite votes how I either expect or am inclined-to (two different things), but that's what keeps this place so interesting and is, in itself, kind of expected by now.

I voted for all the Ontario entries.. by Driusan (4.00 / 1) #4 Sun May 28, 2006 at 01:01:16 PM EST
I'm too lazy to go through the effort of creating a full out separatist movement, so I figure changing my sig and supporting a misplaced jingoistic provincial pride is a start. Someone else will pick up the slack eventually, and once my people are free our artists will be able to kick your artists' ass.

I'll repost it as I finish it.

Never mind about a third panel - I'm not getting past the second one, if you know what I mean.

I thought Millman was 18.

Spot on. by calla (4.00 / 2) #20 Mon May 29, 2006 at 12:41:32 AM EST
I've drawn Millman as I think he would have looked at 18. I wanted to exaggerate the age difference. Artistic license and all.

I would be appreciative if you could shoe-horn it in to the competition.

Thanks.

Three deadline extensions were too few for you?

Consider it shoe-horned.

Great competition by TPD (4.00 / 2) #15 Sun May 28, 2006 at 06:36:22 PM EST
As always in these things I found it difficult to plump for just 3! But in the end I've plumped for

Cam's, Calla's and the Spacejack/256 collab!

in addition to this Joh3n's, JustSomeGuyYouKnow's and Thrustgood's entries especially cracked me up, and all were within a mouse hover of getting the TPD nod of approval.
