In preperation for floor refinishing, we've essentially moved out of 2/3rds of the house. This included the den, so it meant moving lots of furniture, lots of books and lots of papers that hadn't gotten touched in years. This, obviously, involved lots of dust.
So my head currently hurts.
We're nearly there, though. All that's left is a refridgerator and a crib and dresser in the FoML's bedroom. (Oh, and the dining room table.) This stuff, we'll move the night before they start.
Then we get to live in a hotel for eight days until they finish. That'll be fun</sarcasm>.
In typical "when it rains" fashion, the day after I was out late at a business dinner an old college friend invites is to a showing at his gallery. (Yes, I know artist types.) So instead of the vegetating on the couch I needed, I got the socializing in the city that I wanted. Fun, but it's adding to my headache. Note to parents: handling a three-year-old in an art-gallery for two hours is a lot of work. Fortunately, though one of the two artists was doing sculptures, the media he used were cement and steel.
While socializing, we decided that a housewarming party is in order once we get the damn thing done. Perhaps I should submit it to the husi calender. I wonder how to enter "party on the deck once we have a deck" in the date field.
Would any husites actually come? Most are too far one suspects.
It takes an ungodly long time to copy an entire DVD of pictures onto a Windows box.
