A huge favorite in our house
Our 2 year old really enjoys this, sings along, happily identifies letters, he told me the other day "Mommy, I LOVE letters!", this is my standing birthday gift for One Year Olds and the kids and parents always appreciate it. You won't mind hearing it for the 679 millionth time while you make dinner.
WARNING
These songs are so fun and infectious you will find yourself singing them day and night. My kids (6 and 4) LOVE this video. They get up and dance, sing along, jump up and down and have so much fun with this DVD. Even the four-year-old knows all the songs by heart. It's full of catchy little ditties that are as amusing as they are educational. My favorite one is "The Alphabet Lost and Found". If you liked Schoolhouse Rock growing up, this is a good DVD for your kids. It has the same kind of spirit.
Great recording
I listened to They Might Be Giants in college and now I enjoy the music with my kids. This cd is fun and the kids love it. We listen to it all the time.
My daughter learned her ABC's from this DVD
I wish they were still selling this. My daughter was having the hardest time with her ABC's. We'd tried the songs, other DVD's, flash cards & books but nothing seemed to work. Granted she was 2 so maybe I was expecting to much from her but I had been trying to find this DVD to expose her to something non-traditional. Let me tell you, different works (in our case anyway) I found this at a big box store (I think it had been a return since I shop there regularly and hadn't seen it before) it was the only copy so I grabbed it quick. We played it in the van and in ONLY in the van and with in 2 weeks she had her ABC's down pat. To this day it has never been in the house and sometimes it's in the van DVD player for days on end. She LOVES this DVD. When I ask her what she want's to watch, it's always "ABCD's Mommy, ABCD's" She adds the "D" to the title but I don't think TMBG would care. I wish I could buy another copy so we would have one in the house too. I don't understand why this isn't in print anymore. It gets 5 stars from me.
My baby is addicted to this DVD!
I bought this DVD after we'd already played the CD to my then 3-month-old baby girl. Even at that age, she was drawn to the cartoons on the DVD more than anything else she'd ever seen on TV (including the Wiggles).
Within a few weeks this DVD was responsible for me having enough time to reclaim luxuries like eating a meal and going to the washroom!
We're not into babysitting by TV, but this excellent, educational, deliciously geeky DVD now regularly buys my husband and I meals together while the baby is enthralled. We refer to it as BabyCrack because even when she's otherwise cranky she immediately breaks out into smiles and giggles when she hears this DVD start.
She's just over 5 months old now and it still works. The puppets in particular make her happy beyond belief. She squeals for them like a teenager at a Beatles concert.
I cannot recommend this DVD highly enough. It's great for us as TMBG fans, it's great education for her, and as a family it gives us all time to better function throughout our busy days.
