Aside from the day long trek through the lines, the weekend was a fairly good one. The sleep study Elizabeth attended on Saturday night showed that she does not suffer from sleep apnea in any meaningful way. However the 6 am call on Sunday to pick her up was less than welcome. Not that she enjoyed being woken up that early either... So it'll be another week or two while the specialist and her regular doctor hash out the results and figure out what other therapies we can try out. In the meantime she is going to be continuing on her low sugar and almost no caffeine habit.
Sunday was pretty boring overall. Had lunch with her family around 1 and followed that by going back home to hide. Not that her family caused us to hide, just that we didn't feel very social. Ended up getting pizza and salads for diner. Very tasty. Otherwise, it was the usual laundry day.
I have been commissioned by a couple of guys at work to make a batch of home-brew. Supplies will be bought at the end of the week. I agreed to do this partially for the practice and partially because I felt like showing off.
As I turn 30 later this year two things occur to me.
- I need to work on improving and eliminating some of my own man-child behaviors. By this I do not mean stopping work on GMRS (my personal home-made rgp system) or giving up playing video and computer games or stop watching cartoons. No, I mean the sort of self-serving whining I find myself doing when I don't get my way in some things. It disturbs me to see myself whine when I don't get to pick where to go for dinner or such.
- I am lucky to be living the life I have right now. The Love I receive from my wife is completely overwhelming at times. It makes me smile to think on it. The job I have currently is several steps above what I was doing earlier in my life and is a good place to get some experience currently. I need to step back on occasion and enjoy both of these things.
