  1. On the doing of homework

Why is it that I always find myself procrastinating with regards to work I view as tedious? Perhaps, because it is tedious. The reports I have due for my eCommerce business strategy course remain mostly undone. I sit here, knowing they won't write themselves and hitting reload on HuSi. The same goes for work. The stuff I view as boring, I put off and put off and put off some more as if it will somehow go away all on its lonesome if I ignore it long enough. Funny, though, it never does. Speaking of homework, my JavaScript class has just started covering forms. Tedious stuff, really. But at least it can be made moderately humorous. Or at least in bad taste.

  2. On messages from head hunters

The number of head hunters sending me unsolicited email to get my resume in Microsoft Word format has absolutely skyrocketed lately. I can't remember the last time I've gotten this many emails and voice mails concerning this position or that position. The most amazing part is that some of the positions look interesting. One I got propositioned for involved a contract to convert korn shell scripts to the Windows Scripting Host. Bizarre stuff.

  3. Continuing adventures in the house of many plagues

I don't think anyone in the house has a new disease yet this week. But none of us are as of yet cured of the old infections and infestations of microbes. Headaches, chills runny noses, coughs and general malaise inhabit every room. The good news is that it seems as if all of these are slowly dying down in magnitude. If only I could sleep for twenty-four to forty-eight hours and wake up healed!

  4. Progress report on Ye Olde House of Doom

    It's moving slow.

  5. I missed my mom's birthday again

I do this every year. I look at the calendar in advance and I see my mom's birthday and I make a note to call or send her a card. Then the day comes and I forget.

  6. I'm tired. that will be all

I know what you mean. Sometimes, it feels like I have to deliberately wait for the urgency on a task to become sufficiently costly that it becomes worth my while to do it. It's the same crazy kind of logic that prevents some people from doing chores because their time is nominally worth EUR X an hour, with X > minimum wage.
