So anyway.  Where was I?  Oh yeah.

So today I ventured south to Allentown, Easton and Bethelem.  Who according to Philly friend is not a big city at all.  Funny.  I come from a city of at most 50k.  So 110k is pretty fucking big.  I met up with a friend of molasses's, at the Barnes and Noble's in Easton.  Dude.  I know I'm heading there next weekend.  I love books and they gave a shit load of books.  So anyway we left BN becase they wanted to gasp charge for wireless access.  Luckily Pandera Bread was nearby and had free wireless.  T was able to connect and so was I, but I wanted to check my email and tried to connect to my home machine.  It wouldn't work.  We chatted a little bit.  I got lost heading home.  Was in Allentown on Tilghman Street.  And then I saw 145N, and I knew I was no longer lost.  145 heads to 248 and 248 is right where I live.  I found the Sheetz in Whitehall.  All in all it was a nice Saturday afternoon.  The Lehigh tunnel is neat.

I came home and was debating on doing laundry but instead went and got a case of Rolling Rock and a Sub at Giant.  The sub was good. I haven't touched the Rolling Rock yet.  The Yuengling is very good though.

Tipsy but not drunk.  Not yet.

My friend from Philly's sister called me and we chatted for a few minutes.  She has a chihhua.

Okay, maybe I am drunk.  But no where near tom buck drunk.

Sunday now.  That's weird.  That's the second time I've been drunk and have not woken up hungover.  In fact I was up ealrier than I usually am on a Sunday and was able to get some shit done before it was dark.

Laundry is a bear to do. And today I started my load and then drove around town a bit to see where things were.  Found the Post Office, the library, the Dollar store and the Liquor Store.  All in the same little area.  Bought a candle at the Dollar Store.  The one way streets are not all that confusing.  I then went back to the landromat and picked up my clothes.  Then off to Big Lots.  This is the part of the diary where I describe a fucking big ass missed opportunity.  The checkout gal, was wearing a Death Cab for Cutie T-shirt and was quite hawt.  I even said to myself. Mention the band.  Strike up a conversation. Do it!  Do it.  But I didn't.  I also bought a candle here as well.  I have no idea why.

Then I was off to buy food items at the Giant.  This is the part of the diary where I was hit on and chatted up by the checkout girl.  She asked about my NaNoWriMo T-shirt. Unfortunately she was as old as my mother, at least.  On the way out some older lady who just couldn't wait opened up her 2 litre of Soda and started to chug it down. Sexy.

Tomorrow my cable Internet gets installed.  Why do I have this wierd feeling the install guy will show up before 12:30?  He's supposed to be at my place between 12:30 and 5.  So I'm taking a long lunch and probably a half a personal day.  3Mbps down 768kbps up.  I've even cleaned.  I should ask if he'll install basic cable for me as well.

Like our favorite Cleveburgher, I too was looking for matches for my candles.  I couldn't find any.  I did find a candle lighter for 8 bucks, but opted instead for the BBQ lighter type.  It works quite well and has a small flame.  Bob maybe yours was defective?

Watched Bride and Prejudice today.  A++,would watch again.  Northern Exposure Season 4 comes out on DVD March 28, 28 Mar, for the Ukian readers.  It's the season where the show peaks and it all goes to the shitter.  It's also where the producers realize it might last longer than the plot premise that had created the show and they had to do something crappy to extend the show.  Inflation.  That's all I have to say about that, for those that have not seen it yet.  I would watch it.  It's very good.

I did something silly last night while inebriated.  I chatted with the ex and tried to convince her that she'd be happier out this way because she'd be closer to NYC and since she's a theatre kinda gal it make sense if she left Pittsburgh and got closer to the action. Also I told her I still loved her and she should move in with me.  That didn't go as well as I had expected.  What was I thinking?

I need to sall Sauder and request a manual for my entertainment center.  It needs put together so my living room looks semi-decent.  I still have no furniture.  Big Lots was full of recliners but I need a couch a a few stands.  I may have to venture south for that.

Listened to Opie and Anthony via the XM online free 3 day trial.  They suck.  S-U-C-K.  And isn't a morning show just so fucking 80s?  Shut up and play music.  Tell me the weather and some traffic info.

Anyway, I gots to do dishes, take out the garbage and get to bed.  So yeah have a splendid day.

I drunk-dialed my mom once. I cannot possibly express how bad an idea that was.

Then we turned to each other, realised that she was un-employed, and laughed over our respective keyboards.

The End.

If I had the energy and dedication, I am pretty sure she's close to doing just what I suggested Saturday night.

Morning shows by miker2 (2.00 / 0) #5 Mon Mar 06, 2006 at 08:47:58 AM EST
If O&A don't cut it, there's plenty of 'Morning Zoo' style radio in Allentown to listen to.  WZZO (I forget the freq) have The Bear Man & Keith.  They play music and give traffic when not in 20 minute commercial sets.

O&A aren't for everyone, and their show is different by virtue that they're on in two countries (US & Canada) and they can't do traffic/weather on the 8's like every other hack radio jock.

If you don't like jokes that make light of aids, domestic violence, gayness, natural disasters, tragedies, and crime in general then O&A probably aren't for you.  They do a lot of different stuff, but their humor does turn a lot of folks off.

My morning show is by dev trash (4.00 / 1) #7 Mon Mar 06, 2006 at 12:59:43 PM EST
WVIA.  If I want talk I'd rather have news and not jocks laughing at themselves and taking calls from 'real' people.

Setup phone calls by miker2 (2.00 / 0) #9 Mon Mar 06, 2006 at 06:17:32 PM EST
That's one thing you won't find on O&A that you do find on a lot of shows.  They have no problem giving the inside info on how talk radio works and they despise the methods that most jocks use, like setting up phone calls and fake gags.

Again, to each their own, I know a some folks that would be patently offended listening to the same break that I'd be howling with laughter at.  I just like them because they do push the comedy envelope as far as tastefulness and obscenity goes, which is always more gooder.
