of D's once put the proposition "Everything tastes better with bacon" to the test. This came up during a debate in a bar (of course), so the challenge of "Name one thing that does not taste better with bacon" was met with the assertion, "Beer does not taste better with bacon."

Bacon was procured, an experiment conducted, and the conclusion reached that, in fact, beer does taste better with bacon.

If $evil_fucking_project goes on much longer, ana will become a master chef. Or at least learn to believe me when I say that the meal is really good.

Is the whole book good? I saw her on Colber[t], and she seemed pretty bright. And the premise is interesting. And it's not a lame reality tv show, but, instead, I hope, a serious examination of the role flippering.

The book rocks, yes. by toxicfur (4.00 / 1) #7 Wed Mar 22, 2006 at 07:17:56 AM EST
It's witty in the midst of dealing with a pretty serious topic. She went into the project with a set of preconceptions about how men view the world, and many of those preconceptions were overturned. She also doesn't try to make "men are from Charon, women are from Triton" kinds of broad generalizations. "This is my experience. And these are the ways this is not a generalizable experiment." One of the things I really like is how she lets her readers come to their own conclusions in many cases, or at least leaves an opening so that the readers can weigh their own experiences against hers.

Plus, I really like the line I used for my .sig. :-)
