More drivel

So between us we have finally decided that Stepdaughter does need her own computer. Bought with her own money though. Competition is intense for the two we have.

Don't know what to think about this Milosevic thing. Rumours about him skipping doses on his drugs, taking other stuff that may have interferred. Whatever. I'm not sure who benefits from him being dead - apart from conspiracy theories about western support for Al Qaeada in the Balkans.

Don't want to talk about sport.

Wierless playing silly buggers today. Works OK for weeks, then suddenly keeps dropping the connection.

Such is the wonder of e-commerce that I just nearly bought 3 computers.

I am having real doubts about the whole Object Orientation thing. I mean, it's got so subverted with abominations like "stateless objects" and "chunky interfaces" (that perform one specific and non-resuseable function). Let's jsut stick forms on top of relational databases. Fuck it.

A lot of people say the Guantanamo detainees should recieve a trail in a US court. Are we suer that's a good idea?

Has anyone else noticed, but two things that really knackered Factory records both had the word "Monday" in them.

Now which sport would it be... by Metatone (2.00 / 0) #1 Mon Mar 13, 2006 at 01:29:27 PM EST
that you don't want to talk about.

The one where England played really crap all match and then lost, or the one where they just played crap at the end and lost?

If you want to pay for shipping by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #2 Mon Mar 13, 2006 at 01:31:40 PM EST
I can send you a P90 with 2 gig hard drive. SD would be stuck running Loonix and using lynx to browse the web,  but that will keep her on text only sites, and away from pron, chat rooms and all the other stuff that gets kids into trouble.

Command line!, we used it and look how well we turned out.

Win98 + Word 95 by Rogerborg (2.00 / 0) #4 Mon Mar 13, 2006 at 06:13:49 PM EST
Fits on a 540MB drive with room to spare, and also doesn't get you covered in hippy stench.

Can you even legally buy Win98 anymore? by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #5 Mon Mar 13, 2006 at 07:53:15 PM EST
or do you have to get it off the grey market.

That's a good question by Rogerborg (2.00 / 0) #6 Tue Mar 14, 2006 at 04:21:29 AM EST
Hmm, even backups decay.  Hopefully P2P networks can keep the data fresh.  Cultural repositories, that's what they are.

who benefits from him being dead by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #3 Mon Mar 13, 2006 at 01:43:47 PM EST
All of us whose taxes were paying to keep him alive in prison.

Some prosecutor is, as we speak write, getting slowly ass raped with spiky 2X4s by his superiors for screwing up a slam-dunk case.

Didja hear about the McAfee virus definition file screwup? Some poor bastard wrote into SANS that he had to restore 700+ files on 100+ PC after that one.

Earth First!
(We can strip mine the rest later.)

Fucking conspiracy theories, they should un-invent the internet, it never used to be this bad.

It's political correctness gone mad!

You're just an Access lover at heart. Go on, admit it.
