Alright, I've completely screwed my monitor, I think.  So, should I rewrite /etc/X11/XF86Config or something else?

I'm stuck with my terminal only, which is doable, but I want a goddamn windowing system, thus making Nethack easier to play.  Not to mention pr0n videos.
Any advice, people?

Seriously. I have been using Loonix for a long time (since about 96), and now I only use it for development, and not even all of that.

Setting hippy software up on the Mac is still a bit of a hassle, but less of one than it was, and it seems to get more compatible as time goes by.

For the majority of stuff I do, it just works - and these days that's all I really care about. It is also fairly corporate friendly, which may or may not be an issue for you.
