IMed her tonite.  She was not very talkative.  Asked if she was busy this weekend and she is.  She's not too interested I think.  Oh well.  I tried, I guess.

Work is blah.  I had thought I had written the function to do what it was supposed to do, and in Firefox it worked great.  Then I tested in IE.  Broken.  So I change one line and it works in IE but not Firefox.  It's a Javascript issue.  A quick hack is to just check which browser is loaded and run the right version.  But honestly I was just tickled pink that it worked at all.  We're still behind.  Not much I can do about though.

Damn it's cold.  Thats all I have to say about that shiznit.

As per my plan I'm paying off some debt with my tax refund.  Decided that distributing the funds to all my debt would be best.  I still need to go shopping for furniture.  A bed, a couch, and a stand.  I suck at picking what looks good though.

I cooked tonite.  Spaghetti and meatballs.  I overcooked the sauce a bit but all in all it was good.

I called and ordered cable Internet.  Install is scheduled for Monday between 12:30 and 5.  I need to at move my nite stand out to the living room and the cable hookup, so I have a place for my cable modem.  I don't wanna reboot my Linux servers, as they have dick enhancing high uptimes.  hopefully the installer will hook the modem up, let me plug the wireless router into that and voila.  If it comes down to it I'll let him install in the laptop with WinXP on it.

I'm the high bidder on a Sun Sparc 5 at work. $2.  I seem to be collecting more PC stuff.  They have 5 for sale.  I bid on one, $10.  Two minutes later someone bid $11 on it.  I placed a bid on the remaining working one.  $2. Why he bid against me, is odd.

They also have a SCSI 6 disk CD changer made in 1991.

This is a odd thing to see on StumbleUpon.

Anyway  I'm off to bed.  Random readers of this diary will have PMs. Please be reading them.

Howard Stern soon to be poor tag by miker2 (2.00 / 0) #3 Wed Mar 01, 2006 at 01:01:30 AM EST
Indeed he will be.  Who wants to listen to an irrelevant paranoid old lady complain about his life on a radio unit the size of a major household appliance.

Yes, I'm an XM subscriber and a rabid O&A fan.

It may be XM that goes belly up first.

Maybe by miker2 (2.00 / 0) #13 Wed Mar 01, 2006 at 03:07:46 PM EST
Both companies are operating by the skin of their teeth.  XM does have the subscriber base and the tech edge though.  Getting Best Of CES with their new portable helped show their tech superiority. Sirius did get a Hoo-Hoo bump, but it wasn't as big as analysts wanted and shows that the majority of Hoo-Hoo fans weren't willing to pay $12.95/month to hear him.

Meanwhile both companies continue to grow and their stock prices bounce around the same numbers day in and day out.  At this point it's just a waiting game to see which company acquires the other.  My bet is that XM acquires Sirius, but I could be wrong.
