(I really wouldn't bother)

Snow at the end of February?!? Would you Adam and Eve it?

Made a slightly better album cover. which is on 256s site... probably not the last version though. I'm much liking the other entries!

Pepsi is crawling (or at least trying to crawl) around my office floor. He just donked (scientific term) his head.

I have no motivation.

I have been at the same company for 10 years!!! Well at some point this month I will have been.

All that I have learnt is probably going to be obsoleteified.

Hardly touched the guitar in the last week.

I watched collateral (pretty shite), and my cousin Vinnie (excellent).

I'm dreaming of a white horse, upon which one of the four dudes of the apocalypse rides, swinging his sword of justice, lopping off the heads of those who've earned it, spilling the blood of the infidels to run in the streets!

Also, mmmmmmmmmm, Marisa Tomei...

I didn't know there was a covers competition on too.

He rocks.

but you should also ♥ cam, as the parallel covers competition was his idea.

most of the hard work was done by GIMP though (which seems to make this sort of stuff paradoxically ridiculously easy and ridiculously difficult at the same time).

I was doing a logo with The GIMP last week, and it was exactly as you describe.

I am pleased with the result.

Inkscape is great for making random shapes and whirlygigs. GIMP for image manipulation, Inkscape for drawing, and the raw unfettered power of alcohol for ... er, waittaminnit.

.net by hulver (4.00 / 2) #7 Tue Feb 28, 2006 at 11:49:02 AM EST
Much as I hate to say it, VB.net is a peice of piss coming from Delphi. It's just a question of syntax. You can think in Delphi and sit with a book and translate it into VB quick enough.

C# looks pretty similar as well.

Get some decent advanced .net books and you'll be laughing.

C# is probably going to feel my icy touch very soon...

I'm sure I can find some project or other that I can justify must be written in C# in the non too distant future.

I've been told (despite my protestations) that I have to use VB.

It's actually just the same, isn't it? by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #15 Tue Feb 28, 2006 at 04:49:24 PM EST
Not that that counts for anything when you're writing a CV.

And of course there's variants to consider. Yeuch.

Be sure to use absolutelty every feature of the language or at least as many as it is possible to fit into your app. You want this to be a good learning experience, and played correctly it can lead to job security if not for life, for a very long time...

with snow in April not unheard of. But I live in a harsher clime.
