Rather belatedly, a shot of some fireworks taken on the 4th November in Battersea Park.

...although imo it would have been even better if avoided the 2 larger peoples heads at left and right of the bottom.

Obviously when I'm rich and famous I'll arrange for a fireworks display where the only other people allowed to attend have a maximum height of five feet.

Or maybe I can go to a fireworks display that's on a hill.

I might actually just invest some time with Photoshop and my amazing skillz and see if I can get rid of them that way.

It did kind of occur to me after posting that you probably hadn't paid to stage the whole event and be in a position to give directions...

They're really hard to do well. Those are some of the best firework photos I've seen.

When I'm imprisoned as an enemy combatant, will you blog about it?

The only way to do it, really, is nice long exposure times (between 0.5 sec - 2sec) and a tripod (or really solid place to put camera).

I felt like a bit of an arse with my enormous tripod in a large crowd of people, but I think a few of the pics make it worth it.

There's also some tips on the internets about this sort of stuff.

Ahhh by nebbish (2.00 / 0) #9 Fri Nov 17, 2006 at 04:45:02 AM EST
I was going to ask if you'd used a tripod.

You can look less conspicuous using a tripod because people think you're a professional photographer. Maybe not so much at a fireworks display but I think it helps if you're taking photos of street scenes and people.
