AKA Golden Pavilion

The Golden Pavilion is probably the most photographed of all the Kyoto sites.  It's an incredible photogenic location.

The morning I visited Kinkakuji was overcast with moments of bright sunshine.  The temple grounds were crowded, thousands of school kids elbow to elbow.  I was very lucky to get an opportunity to get this shot with no other tourists in the picture.  I didn't have time to change my shutter speed, which resulted in an overexposed second floor.  A few minutes in gimp would clean this up, but I've had way too much wine to be bothered.

It does have that 'for instant tranquility, sit here' kind of feel.

So where was your entry for the PhotoFC? Hmmm?
