Over at kuro5hin,  this story posted.  Now apparently contained Husi diaries which were later removed due to copyright issues.

I hope this was some kind of a troll.

First of all it's hard too believe those were real diaries rather than an exagration on how inane Husi diaries could be at times.

Second, if they were real, that means someone actually went through the trouble of complaining and presumably threating to sue for their inclusion.

It's called having a sense of humor, people.  Now a know that story wouldn't fly on this site.  That's fine you have your community that suits your tastes.  However, if the authors of those diaries actually complained then I think they are being too sensitive.  An emotionally balanced person can take a ribbing and laugh it off.

Of course, maybe no one complained and the editors of K5 were overreacting.  That could be the case, I don't know.

P.S. For those of you who haven't been to K5 in a while, yes stories like that do post frequently get posted.  The "trolls" have pretty much taken over.  Personally, I think K5 is hilarous nowadays and good serious stories still get posted.

Simplest explanation by gpig (4.00 / 2) #1 Sun Aug 21, 2005 at 01:25:01 PM EST
The copyright problem was a good excuse for the editors to delete a story which was purile and idiotic.

kuro5hin needs a hole so it can get rid of its shit.

The parts he removed were the least offensive.

Yep, that's stupid, they should have either deleted the whole thing or let it stand in its entirety.

See here. It's the usual stuff. If he posts crap and it gets deleted he boasts about it getting deleted. If he posts crap and it doesn't get deleted, he boasts about how it doesn't get deleted.

You fail it for diarizing about it, I fail it for commenting about it... let's just leave him to his fun.

From what I understand by ucblockhead (2.00 / 0) #3 Sun Aug 21, 2005 at 01:29:39 PM EST
No one here complained that I know of. Certainly I didn't. Honestly, I don't think anyone here gave a shit.

And of course it's a troll. NIWS wanted us to get all upset or something. He made sure the editors here knew he was doing it the minute he did it. Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is. He explicitly said he was posting it because it was copyrighted material...seems odd for him to get upset when it was deleted. (Ok, well it doesn't seem odd. He's being fake upset, though I suspect he's annoyed that no husites complained.)

For myself, he didn't include my diary, so I wouldn't have felt I had the right to complain regardless.

From what I understand, one particular k5 editor decided to delete it.

I'm sure Jason wanted someone here to complain so that he could whine about how we are overreacting. Whatever. The guy obviously has issues.

The legal troll, how original by georgeha (4.00 / 3) #5 Sun Aug 21, 2005 at 02:19:42 PM EST
I'm referring to OSM pulling that back on slashdot in the late 90's of course, even changing his slashdot user profile to something like:

Account locked due to pending lawsuit

or something, for which Taco got a little hatemail.

Nowaday's it boring and derivative, and too typical of k5 lately, boring trolls and inane crapflooders. A shame Goth Girl is probably Craig.

That's the only one I remember. The rest of them were  the others posted near it. Can't remember how many.

Ah, I see this runs deeper than I thought by Big Sexxxy Joe (2.00 / 0) #12 Sun Aug 21, 2005 at 04:54:16 PM EST
Apparently, the author is rusty's nemisis the imfamous Nights in White Satin.  And there much drama surrounding this diary.

I have also learned that the Husisexuals (which is a term of affection, I assure you.) no more of the goings on of K5 than myself.  This is all quite fascinating.

So since the no one over here asked for the story to be edited, I apologize if I came across as accusing you of being babyish.  I was simply annoyed that I story that amused me had been edited.

When was the last time you huffed paint?  I have horrid spelling, but yours may actually be neurological problems.  I suggest a, I dunno, a brain scan or something.

We're all about concern here.

Replying to my own diary yet again by Big Sexxxy Joe (2.00 / 0) #13 Sun Aug 21, 2005 at 05:06:51 PM EST
Upon further inspection, on of the diary authors did complain to rusty:  http://www.kuro5hin.org/comments/2005/8/21/51835/2838?pid=10#11

So I retract my retraction.  The person who complained to rusty is an overly sensitive immature baby.

As long as you understand that there was no "official" husi complaint. Sorry if I misled you...when I posted I had heard of no complaint at all. (I still have no clue who complained (nor do I really care who complained.))

A "story" like that could live here quite well.

I do think that it's hilarious that kuro5hin trolls have nothing to do but troll our site by remote control.  Glad you pointed it out, as I never see that site.

Glad also that we're the kind of place that you and the kurobots hate.

One day, we may all meet in person.  I'd be happy to explain our philosophy.

Why are you hating? by Big Sexxxy Joe (2.00 / 0) #17 Sun Aug 21, 2005 at 07:02:08 PM EST
I came with a specific grievance.  It is quite a shame when all humor becomes an evil "troll."

I don't hate this sites as evidenced by the fact that I have an account here.  But I cannot speak for my fellow Gay5ers.

So I hope you've enjoyed being trolled and perhaps we shall speak again someday.

I'm like Jesus, only better.
