How does a street gang advertise? Are they limited to graffiti only?

Earlier this week, residents living on the 500 block of Broson St. in North Toledo discovered Fliers proclaiming a new gang was moving in on their doorsteps. The "Dexter Boyz" placed the fliers on neighborhood porches during the night, frightening some residents, while causing other residents to laugh so hard they peed their pants.

From the flier: "Don’t come on Dexter if u not from Dexter or u will wonder who u got off Dexter." What does that mean? I don't know, but it sounds like they sure as hell don't want me to come on Dexter. I think it's obvious that they didn't run that through a spell checker. Best of all is the ending of the flier. If nothing else, at least they're polite.

But it gets better: Wait until you see their website. It says that the page is only for their "Dexter Niggas and Dexter Girls," but they aren't that strict on IDs, so feel free to "Bang yo D's" with them. From the background image that loads and is quickly covered by a solid color to the non-working email form at the bottom of the page, the site is a tour de force. Just don't expect to be thievin' any of their dope ass Photoshop jobs, 'cause the Dexter Boyz don't roll with no right clickin'.

Time to wrap this up before I start talking like Herbert Kornfeld.

they are just trying to move the gang experience into a new era.

On the graffiti advertising thing.
Maybe the next step is to move to those mobile billboard things that are towed along by scooters. That way the tags could cover a much wider area. A bit like a privatised version of marking up public transport vehicles.

touch, and there's some quality vertical symmetry at their website. And an area for secret personal message handing, to boot, though I can't make much sense out of this:

        <!-- begin close tags to handle personal message anomolies -->
        </A>
        </B>
        </I>
        </U>
        </CENTER>
        </BLINK>
        </FONT>
        <!-- end close tags to handle personal message anomolies -->

Personal message anomolies, indeed.

Someone thoughtfully included an image of a condom in that photoshop montage of guys posin' and guns.
