Well, looks like the gloves are off and not for the first time either.

No doubt the "perpetrators" will be subjected to the full liberal hand-wringing exercise for trying to prevent more needless loss of life.

First of all, cricket in terrorism stories is my schtick.

Second, cricket was bloody awful today.

First, it's Friday night; I assumed that you would require a locum.

It does mean that perhaps they should be more careful, and a little less trigger happy. Like I've said before, I'm not saying that I'd have done any better in that situation, but then I'm not the one carrying a gun, and there's a reason for that.

I don't understand the analogy with Gibraltar by nebbish (2.00 / 0) #7 Mon Jul 25, 2005 at 12:44:34 AM EST

It's political correctness gone mad!

The fate of the bomber is not really the issue. by dmg (2.00 / 0) #8 Mon Jul 25, 2005 at 12:44:55 PM EST
I was illustrating a point that queensbury rules have never applied when dealing with an ideological enemy.

What should the forces of law and order do when confronted with the immediate threat of violence?

They have to rely on possibly flawed intelligence, with all the messy fallout that ensues.
