Dear All

Still devastated but these links give some information re Steven. I am glad Dee is here, she has been wonderful as have Leona and James (from the US whom are staying with me) and at Church they sadly announced Boy's death, and I whaled out really loud, so did Dee, everyone came around and prayed, everyone, Dee is gutted too, we all are, I spoke to Chris to tell him the news he was well considering but was sad to hear the news. It is devastating, it is in the telegraph and herald today.

Love Tara

Check his k5 diaries by BadDoggie (4.00 / 1) #3 Sun Apr 10, 2005 at 10:04:44 PM EST
He stopped posting last December but back in May his life had really gone to shit. My life is fucked:
My fiancée dumped me. Then my girlfriend dumped me. Then my parents dumped me. My credit card company then dumped me and because of that my ISP dumped me and my phone company will soon dump me too no doubt. And I think my boss is about to dump me.
There were also some bunch of work woes due to his problems with sight and hearing as well.

I only remember him from a couple threads and riddals. Oh, and that "Bill Gates is the NT Christ" comment.

woof.

Interesting that by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #6 Mon Apr 11, 2005 at 12:52:49 AM EST
no one has posted a diary at K5 about this. It brings up an interesting question, which was also brought up a couple months ago in the case of a Marine (IIRC) killed in Iraq: How do you handle the account of someone who dies? How is notification of the website handled, and confirmed? What are/should be the policies of the website? Do Slashdot, K5 and HuSi have any policies in place?

If I had the time I might knock together a K5 story about that.

I'd say that it's none of any website's business in most cases.

your account deactivated or locked, or you might want your heirs to be able to download all your writings. You might want your acquaintences on the website to know.

But in the absense of any instruction, why would a rational admin assume anything other than the default of leave-it-as-it-is?

I'm going to post something on K5 about this by Captain Tenille (2.00 / 0) #13 Mon Apr 11, 2005 at 05:31:17 AM EST
Just haven't gotten around to it. I also figured there'd be more people here who'd care and/or remember when he was posting on k5.

I was seriously considering dusting off my account to post a k5 diary about this, but I've not had the time to even think about what to write, let along actually sit down and write it.

Depressing by ucblockhead (4.00 / 8) #9 Mon Apr 11, 2005 at 04:17:55 AM EST
I find this all intensely depressing. I mean, I'm not going to say he was a close friend or anything, becuase he wasn't. He was just some guy I bumped into now again at k5. But my memory (hard to confirm without k5's search) was that he was just genuinely one of the positive influences on the site. Just genuinely nice. So I find it depressing that he's gone, especially like this. The world needs nice people to stay in it.
