The B.A.D.TM

The name you trust in online diaries...

  • How utterly ironic is it that this Terri Shaivo bird, who is currently starving to death, became a vege-table as a result of having a heart attack that was brought on due to her battle with, get this, bulimia. Heh, now you know why no court on the planet could state she should have a feeding tube, it's obvious she doesn't want to eat!
  • This is probably wrong and I'm sure I'm the last guy on the Internet to watch it and all that but what the hell, it's not like you're paying for this.
  • I fixed my ErrorAmericia streaming problem this morning, no thanks to any of you, my imaginary online pals, thank you very much. As such, I refuse to state how I fixed it and will now leave you blokes to wither on the vine, so to speak, and figure it out for yourselves. What the hell happened to the whole "community" free-love help your neighbour spirit??? Ya bunch of rat bastards, see if I ever help yuns with anything ever again.
  • Right, hey, it turns out that if you're a God fearing Christian you get Good Friday off here at McMurphies Widgets Emporium Enterprise Unlimited LLC. Heh.. guess what, I just became a God fearing Card Carrying Christian!!! Woooo!! Three day weekend!!! Praise God!!! Wooo!!!!
  • So now that this bloke in Minn offed a bunch of his pals at school does that mean Jon Katz is going to be writing a bunch of crappy stories about goofy teens getting "picked on" at school for Slashdot again? In my mind that was a real low point for slashdot, which is really saying something.

I think anorexia would be more ironic by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #1 Thu Mar 24, 2005 at 08:07:20 AM EST
but you can feel free to use the American usage of ironic.

I suppose that the ironic bulimia thing would be if inserting the feeding tube caused her to vomit, and then choke on the vomit.

I'm working tomorrow, saving my vacations for other days. Mrs. Ha can entertain the manic, cabin fevered nagging brats while I chip away in my quiet, fabric lined salt mine with T1.

I kind of liked the Hellmouth series, in that I realized I didn't have it so bad in high school. It was also a sneak peek into the /bot mindset, which for trollering purposes was a gold mine.

Gosh, they practically write themselves ..." those geeks might call me a jock because I'm on the football team and like to work out, but I like computers too, you should see me on the chat rooms. I just don't get this hellhole stuff, if those geeks would just try to be a little social, I'm sure they'd like high school just as much as I did. As it was, they were practically begging for swirlies and wedgies with their odd behavior."

Just work maybe the "smug better than everyone mindset" meme and perhaps "some asparagus syndrom or what not they claim to sit out from gym class, damn pussies"

Yes, right, I was indeed invoking the USistan version of irony.

Yeah, I missed trolling that whole thing, it was such a load of crap that I couldn't even stomach reading it. Why didn't they run some stories about people who didn't get picked on in school, I mean, when you only cover one side of the story all you get is one side of the story.

Indeed, those blokes were simply proving the point that if they weren't such whiny freaks nobody would have beat them up and taken their lunch money. In fact just reading that crap made me want to tie them to their lockers and fart in their faces.

Warmest regards,

It almost makes me want to register a neonazi by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #10 Thu Mar 24, 2005 at 08:46:46 AM EST
account on /. or k5, just to tell them truth, and let them know that most neonazis aren't homicidal maniacs, but prefer to work through the system to achieved their desired ends of ridding the world of subhumans.

and then by tps12 (4.00 / 1) #11 Thu Mar 24, 2005 at 08:48:29 AM EST
It turned out later that the Columbine kids hadn't really been picked on. They weren't prom kings or anything, but they had a pretty normal group of friends.

Jon Katz does have some interesting ideas, and he writes well, but he is pretty liberated from any actual facts in crafting his narratives.

It seems I don't have any days off for Easter, which is 100% bogus. I thought we were a theocracy now.

A Slashdot posting equating neo-Nazi shooting sprees to computer nerds would be quite amusing.

did you see by MillMan (4.00 / 1) #3 Thu Mar 24, 2005 at 08:11:15 AM EST
his flash animation?

Pretty much spells out the plan, although in reality he stole the cop car instead of blowing it up.

I wonder what Katz can do with that.

This one is my favorite. Yeah, it's a christmas rant, but I still laugh every time I play it.

I'd use Katz's articles in my English classes... by superdiva (2.00 / 0) #7 Thu Mar 24, 2005 at 08:25:10 AM EST
...but, unfortunately, I'm teaching actual research methods.

To his credit he did write a book on dogs and crap (I actually heard him on NPR on the Diane Rehm show pimping it) that was fairly well researched. Boring as as a box of turnpis, but fairly well thought out.

I guess slashdot only got the crap and he saves the "good stuff" for real books.
