I'm on holiday tomorrow and on Monday!

Nothing can penetrate my aura of smugness with my co-workers!

Plans for long weekend.

QUESTION: Wheres the best place in Europe you've visited for a long weekend?

Thurs evening - meeting up with ex to freak her out. Potential to carry on drinking afterwards in either St Patricks day revelry/depression.

Fri am - tidy flat. Fri pm - Get haircut, meet sister and niece for lunch, spoil niece, get moaned at by sister. Meet friend for post (his) work drinks. Then go dog racing (hooray for alcohol and gambling, what a splendid combination!). Possibly go to an all night party with a bushel of attractive Spanish nurses.

Saturday - book tickets for weekend in Berlin in October (whats it like, I have no idea). Have pals over for xbox/beer/pizza session (we will be playing ProEvo4, Halo2, Burnout3 and Tiger Woods for money when drunk enough).

Sunday - SADNESS. One of my pals is off to work in Japan for a year. Although this is fantastic for him, its obviously going to suck not seeing him (although I shall be visiting for a couple of weeks in September). Have organised a surprise leaving shindig in a local pub - he thinks the two of us are going for a quiet beer but everyone local he knows is going to be there.

Thats it. Thats as exciting as it gets for me, this weekend.

ANSWER: Luxembourg City by yami (4.00 / 1) #3 Thu Mar 17, 2005 at 08:33:50 AM EST
Very pretty, with nicely set up self-guided walking tours of the old fortressy things. However, there were no attractive Spanish nurses. If you have ready access to this bushel I recommend staying home forever.

but may have to rethink this stance.

Berlin in October by ti dave (4.00 / 1) #4 Thu Mar 17, 2005 at 09:25:02 AM EST
I hope you're planning some indoor activities, because the weather's shite.

I had a nice, long week-end in Vaduz. Your mileage may vary.

Take lots of very warm clothes. I know a great and cheap place to stay if you're interested...
