Curry

Yummy Pataks Jalfrezi the perfect accompanyment to what ever you have lying about in the cupboards/freezer. Me = such a lazy arse when comes to cooking when I'm on my own.

However 1 complaint Jalfrezi to my mind should be a pretty hot dish (though much of the heat coming from whole pick-out-able green chillies). I would put it somewhere slightly above Madras but significantly below Vindaloo in strength. However this Jarred stuff is as mild as mild green fairy liquid.

That said it does vary a shed load in spicyness between different curry emporia. If you any strong feelings or have the definitive answer to how hot a Jalfrezi should be, please include your workings in a comment containing the answer.

Underworld

a cliche of a film from start to finish. Piss poor acting, relatively mediocre special effects, terrible dialog and plot.... Loved it 8/10

Seriously: Maybe. I've got a feeling The One True Cup is on its way back to Old Trafford this year. They've looked more up-for-it than either of the other members of the Big Three.

Champs League - definitely got a reasonable shot. Because of the draw, no matter what happens, some seriously heavy hitters are going to get tanked in the next couple of days, which could open it up for you. I'm just not 100% convinced that you've got the (fit) defence for it this year. At some point, I'd like to see this Arsenal squad win it, though, just because their rightful place in history won't be achieved without it, IYSWIM.

I was going to post a comment saying "You must now exclusively refer to me as 'Prophet'", but I thought the result was harsh enough on its own. I'd keep hope alive, though. Arsenal are quite capable of murdering anyone 2-0 at the Library. That last 'consolation' may yet prove crucial.

but it's still very much an uphill struggle now, at least Bayern looked pretty ordinary themselves (not that it's fun to be so badly mullered by such a poor team).
I haven't given up hope, but my confidence has taken a knock, even if we get past this stage we certainly won't be winning the thing if we put in performances like that.

Jalfrezi has to be a favourite of mine. As you say, it ought to have the green chillis so you can select hotness for each mouthfull.

(Totally undefinitive rambling culled and paraphrased from an article from a magazine follows.)

Jalfrezi is more a method of cooking than a defined dish. It sort of means "hot-fry" but might be better thought of as "stir-fry". Most UK Indian restaurants stir-fry green peppers, onions and plenty of green chillies as the basis for a curry with just a little sauce. The chillies make the jalfrezi taste very fresh but also make it one of the hotter curries on the restaurant menu.

So there is no definitive hotness, except by custom, but the custom says, heap on the chillis!
