Sadly, it doesn't report what Jerry Pournelle's response to being told he was Heinlein was.

I'm Samuel R. Delaney.

When I tried to make it tell me I was Philip K. Dick it told me I was William Gibson.

I read a few of his. Found them a bit preachy.

I'm out all this afternoon. I have an interview with $ConsultingFirm. There is apparently no limit to the depths I am willing to plumb.

I too am likely to be out all afternoon. Hogshead style.

And I've never even heard of Bester

I'm H. G. fucking Wells.

Then I retook the test choosing the answers as if I was the last bastard on earth, and the champion is... Jerry Pournelle.

Cheers.

I've read a few of his books (Mission of Gravity) and while they were good, they didn't inspire me to reread them like Asimov, Blish, Niven, Pournelle, Heinlein or Dick. What a nerdy choice.

She's one of the most prominent black SF writers. Pretty good as well: her recent Parable series is very gritty, realistic near-future SF.

I watched a documentary about links between SF and music in black culture recently, she must have been on it. I was drunk when I watched it though.

Thanks Mr Mutt, another author for my Amazon wish list!
