I know I've told you lies
If I could have just one more wish
I'd wipe the cobwebs from my eyes.

New, exciting BreakerBurst Diary Format inside!

Poll: New format vs Old?

  • Had a bit of a row with CAB
  • Made up
  • Got outrageously pissed
  • Found a new DSB venue
  • Have not bought a MIDI device as yet
  • Must remember not to run off my mouth when I'm pissed
  • Need to find a way of streaming DivX off my PC to my telly (recommendations?)
  • Have not touched D2 for weeks
  • Discovered that Durex "Tingle" line is akin to putting toothpaste on your knob
  • Have a friend of CAB's staying for 3 weeks
  • And 2 others in 2 weeks time
  • Will be there for the start of LHuSiBeers
  • This weekend I am definitely going to kick CAB and her mate out shoe shopping or something and RTFO
  • Rome on BBC is pretty damned good.

Like Rome too. Good period in Roman history to cover, the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire. Plus lots of nude totty and fighting, can't go wrong...

Shame I missed the first few. by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #4 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 03:41:49 AM EST

This week's episode was the first one.

Hurray for nekkid frippet and swords!

Toothpaste on your nob. by ambrosen (4.00 / 1) #2 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 03:24:07 AM EST
I bet that's cheaper than Tingle condoms, too.

RTFO away!

What's D2? The only thing I can think of it standing for is hulver's 2nd daughter, and it's clearly not that.

I've got svideo output on my laptop. There's USB2 devices that can do it for PCs, but I don't think they're cheap. Lidl will have DivX compatible DVD players for £20 next Saturday. Including media card readers, too.

I like your bullets.

Clarification: by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #5 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 03:44:51 AM EST
D2 - Diablo II

Only one problem with svideo - the tv's downstairs and the PC is upstairs.

I have seen these PCI cards that broadcast a tv signal, and have a seperate RF receiver that you plug into the telly, but damned if I know who makes them.

The DVD player is probably cheaper by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #8 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 03:55:57 AM EST
I have one, a Liteon-2002, it plays most DIVX's I put in it. Newer ones should have even more codecs.

[ Parent ]

I already have one by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #12 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 04:05:45 AM EST
Plays most DivX but it really depends on the encoding; the processor on it really struggles to keep up.  Plus it's a pain having to burn to CD, and I've no DVD burner

Two storeys! by ambrosen (4.00 / 1) #9 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 03:58:43 AM EST
There's certainly TV senders that work with a TV input signal. In that case I'd suggest a chipped XBox with Media Centre and a wireless gateway.

[ Parent ]

Nope by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #13 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 04:06:42 AM EST
More like about 25 feet.

So, about these TV senders, got any manufacturers names for them?

Here's a quality stockist. by ambrosen (4.00 / 1) #15 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 04:10:50 AM EST
Seems that only plebs want to do it. Not that cheap, it seems.

Graaaaah! by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #19 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 07:52:21 AM EST
They are all TV->TV senders!

CHeers for the link anyway.  Might have to take a stroll down Tottenham Court Rd and see what they have, then buy it for half price off the intarwebnet.

At least the things exist, I guess. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #21 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 07:55:07 AM EST
I'd go for a living room PC solution at those prices, though.

[ Parent ]

Hmm by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #26 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 08:02:58 AM EST
In fact I have an old PC sat doing nothing...  Wouldn't cost that much for a TV out and I can wireless it up one time stylee...

Plus, GEEK POINTS!

TV Outs by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #28 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 08:04:31 AM EST

Gets to the point, lacks detail, bit like the shortened version of Rome we're watching over here....

It'd been a long time since your last diary, so I'd noticed you'd slipped in a format change ;)

Some of those points definitely need elaborated on.

Also, while I don't really want to know how details of you know what toothpaste on your nob feels like, I'm going to pimp Extra Strong Mints for that zesty feeling, IYKWIM.

Uhm by Breaker (4.00 / 1) #20 Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 07:54:44 AM EST
Not much I can elaborate on about not playing D2 or buying a midi keyboard, I'm afraid.

Although I'm sure a field report of the extra strong mints would be appreciated by several of the HuSi's...  Where will that end, though - Deep Heat?
