I wrote that a couple of days ago. Inside we have new camera info, movies, and random thoughts.

Camera

Last week I bought a shiny new Nikon D50 digital SLR. Looks very nice! And as soon as the memory card arrives, I'll actually be able to use it. I chose the Nikon for a few reasons...

  1. It comes with a free 70-300mm zoom lens
  2. My film SLR is a Nikon, and I like it
  3. It got good reviews on dpreview.com
I now need a new PC to process the photos I'm going to get out of it.

Random Thoughts

The song I would like to listen to right now is like so...

My ex-girlfriend's boyfriend's got a band
He writes love songs about her, and from what I understand
He's the expert now at takin' off her clothes
He's got two songs on the radio, I wish I'd written those
Unfortunately that CD is in my wife's car at the moment, and she won't be home until 8am tomorrow. So I'll just have to find something else. Suddenly I wanted to hear Oasis, but that doesn't want to play in my CD drive. Not sure why. Instead I will listen to Nick Cave's best of.

My wife is working night shift tonight. She has been for the past two weeks. It's alright early in the week, but the novelty wears off pretty quickly. At least it's only one more night.

Recent Movies Seen (in order of preference):

  1. Cinderella Man
  2. Elizabethtown
  3. The 40 Year Old Virgin
  4. The Proposition
  5. Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo
  6. The Dukes of Hazzard
  7. Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
There hasn't been much of quality.

Today

I'm procrastinating because I need to mow the lawn and do the edges at some point today. I don't mind the mowing too much, but doing the edges is a horrible job. The Whipper Snipper is just an uncomfortable tool to use for more than a few minutes at a time.

Idea

I noticed a while back that I tend to type paypaul.com in the address bar rather than paypal.com. I think someone should register paypaul and start collecting money. It doesn't have to be done in a dishonest way. Just make it clear that you are paying Paul. I'm sure some people are stupid enough to pay anyway.

The last 3 movies in your list are all ones I want to see. Lets see if we have the same taste in movies or not. If we do than I suppose I can skip those 3 movies.

Did you like: Super Troopers, Deuce Bigalow Male Gigalo, Boat Trip, Kung Pow: Enter The Fist, Meet The Fockers? If you thought those were good movies...I'll avoid your list above.

  • Super Troopers Haven't seen it, but I don't think I'd like it.
  • Deuce Bigalow Male Gigalo Definitely exceeded my expectations, but I wasn't expecting much.
  • Boat Trip Haven't seen it, sounds terrible.
  • Kung Pow: Enter The Fist I enjoyed this a lot.
  • Meet The Fockers My favourite from your list. Although it does get a bit tired on subsequent viewings.
Movies I've seen this year are listed here with ratings. But it sounds like our tastes are very different.

Kung Pow was pure masochism. Ok in doses of five minutes, over an hour and a half - brutal.

And he had, I'm fairly sure, a crush on my ex-girlfriend. Suffice to say that the only single they released (charted in the UKat number 69 (fnarr)) was about unrequited love. Which made me feel awkward.

Obviously in reference to your lyrics quote.

Why don't you have your music collection ripped and available?

your thoughts on the d50 when you get a chance.  I'm just about to hit the 'buy' button myself.  Who knows, maybe I'll use that paypaul account for the transaction.
